You weren't that dumb to figure out your brown-haired friend. You know something was up with her, but she would always shift the mood whenever you would look at her with worry on your face.
But you won't let go of that.
She wanted to hang out today, so she was now laying on the floor with her feet up to your bed. She often does this whenever she wants to say something or when her mind is preoccupied with something or... someone.
"What's on your mind?" she snapped her eyes towards you. She forced a smile, but not lingering her gaze on you, her eyes now on the ceiling.
She shake her head nonchalantly. "Nothing much. You?" she seemed so off today and not only that, she didn't even want to eat, which is very unusual. Nobara would often rummage through your fridge to look for something to eat.
"Do you want to watch something?" you asked, trying to not make the air around you uncomfortable. She shrugged and sat up, scratching the back of her neck, still avoiding eye contact.
You both decided that you will be the one to choose what to watch. You don't like how quiet she was, because she's usually always the talkative one between the two of you.
You chose a Marvel movie, and she just sat comfortably beside you. That's when you had enough. You faced her and grabbed her shoulders, startling her. She stared at you wide-eyed.
"Okay, enough. I know you hate sci-fi because it's 'boring', so tell me what's wrong." you crossed your arms over your chest, raising an eyebrow at her. You paused the movie and gave her a look. It took her a while to sigh through her nose.
She shrugged boredly, "I don't know... I'm just thinking."
You stared at her intently, tilting your head. "What?" you were eager to know the response so you shift in your seat.
"Geto and I met the other day." she confessed.
You widened your eyes, and urged for her to continue. She looked hesitant at first. "We, you know... talked about things. Then one thing led to another..."
Your ears perked up at that. "Wait, what-"
She shake her head furiously. "No, not like that." you nodded, keeping your mouth shut. So you're the only one who has to buy them lunch, since you're the first one to lose your social construct of a virginity to someone.
"I don't know but he ghosted me again. It's the third time he did that, you know." she mumbles. She's not the type to show her feelings since she always put up a front, so it was new to see her opening up to you.
She groaned. "I know he's not the type of guy who would take things seriously, but I actually thought we had something
Or maybe it was just me." she let out a sigh, and rubbed her face.
You didn't know what to say, so you just rubbed her shoulder, looking through the window. She chuckled. "I just got tired of letting him use me whenever he wants or when he's bored. I've liked the guy for like, what, months? So I didn't really see it at first."
The afternoon was well spent with Nobara, with you letting her rant about Geto and how much she misses him but she didn't want to sound too desperate. You told her to not message him even when she misses him, so it won't seem like she's chasing him.
Nobara picked the movie and of course, she chose the thriller one. You ordered food for both of you, to comfort your friend. You know the feeling of having feelings with a playboy because you're still going at it.
"How 'bout you? How's cheerleading?" Nobara asks, taking a bite from her slice. A smile appeared on your lips, "It's good. Mai is so nice, and I'm kinda getting along with the girls at my team." you said before sipping on your drink.
