Nights like these I'd sit outside,
Under the stars that shine afar,
Let my thoughts flow out like the Clyde
And tend to an old deep scar.
There was love and there was pain,
Sunshine and heavy rain
And though I may never see her eyes again,
The memories and the hugs still remain.
Where she goes she leaves a blinding light,
Changing the darkness to a bright white,
The smiles, purple hearts and sunshine ignite
A beauty never perceived by sight.
The moments, stares and words we exchanged
Caress my mind when I'm alone with myself,
Oh my dear nothing has changed
And the brightness still carries me as I find myself.
