Setting: Future
Date: Never
Scene opens, boy is standing alone in the evening air, starring into the sky and rubbing his shoulders...hoping for warmth until she (girl) walks over!
Boy: Hey there pretty what's with the smile?
Girl: My name's not pretty! Shut up and get out!
Boy: I'm enchanted, now I can't leave and I couldn't help but notice...(pauses abruptly and breathes in)
Girl: Notice what? (Clearly irritated)
Boy: Umm, the blazing summer in your eyes.
Girl: (Laughing jeeringly) I was right, you're clearly running mad and whatever you're thinking, IT WON'T WORK! This ain't Telemundo.
Boy: (Smiling sadly) I'm cold...
Girl: What?
Boy: (Shrugs) I'm cold, can I get a hug?
Girl: You can keep proving me right about your madness!
Boy: (Wipes left eye) I'll fade away if you don't.
Girl: (Suddenly concerned) Okayyy! Okayy! (Hugs him)
One hour later...
Girl: (Smiling) Let go of me! You're hugging too tight.
Boy: If I do, I'll fade away. Is that what you want?
Girl: (Sarcastically) Yeah of course.
Boy: (Lets go of her and begins to fade) Well, whenever you're ready, I'll be waiting!
Girl: (In tears and beginning to fade too) I'm so sorry! I..I didn't mean it to be this way.
Boy: I understand. It's just (wiping His eyes) It's just that you remind me of a girl I used to fall headfirst for every new day.
Girl: (With a hopeful, glimmering smile) Really? You know...I deserve to know her name!
Boy: (Letting the tears out) Charisma, Charis for short. At some point, she left me alone at the spot over there where we used to talk together.
Girl: (Nodding) I'm sorry. You also remind me of a boy I was once scared to love but ended up falling for nonetheless.
(They begin to fade faster and faster now)
Boy: (Struggling to reach for her and failing) Really? I deserve to know His name too!
Girl: (Struggling to reach for him too and failing) He was a very frank boy to start with, but His name was Praise. I had to let him go, I didn't deserve Him...I still don't.
Boy: (Giving up trying to reach her) Oh, I'm sorry but hey, don't you believe in second chances? 'Cause I do.
Girl: (Smiling) Not really. I mean, I have my beliefs and He has his so it just can't...(Boy moves closer to her with much pain)
Boy: Your destiny is in your hands. Believe. Hold onto good people and good things even if it means shifting some of your beliefs! If you decide to, maybe we could fit each other. I mean, I certainly love you.
Girl: (Breaking into tears) I'll think about it. Let's meet at the church sometime later.
Boy: (Fading away rapidly but slowly) Sure. What's the bride price again?
Girl: (Fading away rapidly but slowly too) That's just a family thing. I'm priceless though and well, I really don't think we will ever fit due to my.....my beliefs.
Boy: (Faded, shocked and screaming suddenly) Oh, I see. She said the same thing too but...but what do you do when you can't stop loving someone? In any case, au revoir angelos! Still love you.
Girl: (Faded yet sobbing silently) He would say the same thing too! I...(struggling)..I love you too. Ttyl.
Upon fading, a purple pouch rested where she had stood and as for where He had stood? A blue pouch rested. Time picked them up and went back to work, plotting their re-union.
To be continued...
