Today it's a beautiful evening sprinkled with stars,
Lowly-lit sidewalks and the chorus of insects,
The wind with it's touch and it's whispers in my ears
And trees gently swaying to it's rhythmic caressing
I took a walk to declot my mind,
To shine some lights on the corners left behind
Yet the more I walk, the more cluttered it gets
With the thoughts and memories I believed were gone
It's painful to lose someone you've known for aeons
But it cuts deeper when that person was your star,
The reason why you owned up to the mistakes and scars,
The reason you get inspired to open up your mind
Or the reason you decided to ever step out of that shell
The inevitability of the end of all things is what makes the world a suffocating place,
Almost like a race underwater against monsters you can't face,
All the bridges will burn and the tables will turn—
And more than often we will end up with scars when we searched for healing
Today it's a beautiful evening sprinkled with stars,
Lowly-lit sidewalks and the chorus of insects,
We came a long way but in the end it didn't matter
For it took but one moment for all of it to shatter
Perhaps it could've worked in an alternate universe—
But in the end, what's done is done and all we can do is disperse.
