Evening frowned upon them as they stared into each other,
Unspoken messages passing between their eyes-
In affection that only grew deeper and spread further

I leaned off the wall even though I wore no vans
With an interest in the two and a schism in my plans,
Two more minutes and they exchanged whispers,
The winter left his eyes as her smile healed his heart's blisters
And I watched with bittersweet interest as she burned away his winters!

Ten more minutes and I could take no more
It was a love I envied and had sought for,
I'd had it a year or two years before-
But she broke my heart and left by the back door

An hour had passed and the lovers left their spot,
I re-lived times with her as I breathed in the evening,
The boat had sailed but could I give it another shot?
I wondered as I walked back home, giving the events some meaning.
