Chapter 47

"What are you gonna wear?" Jesses voice sounds muffled as she speaks from inside my closet.

"I don't know." I huff as I look in the mirror.

"Ow fuck." I hear Jess curse. I turn around and see her examining her finger.

"What happened?"

"I don't know. I was digging through your pile of shit in here and something cut me."

"Hey! It's not all shit." She just looks at me and rolls her eyes. I watch blood seep out of her finger.

"Wait. It hurt didn't it?" I grab her finger and she winces. She looks at me with wides eyes. "Punch me."

"What?"

"Just punch me!" I yell at her confused face.

"I'm not just gonna punch you Ellie."

"Fine." I dismiss her and turn around. I look at the wall in front of me and run forward.

"Jesus Christ!" Jess screams and I feel my body slam into the ground. "What the hell are you doing!" Jess roars with laughter.

"It hurt." I get up and grin at her.

"Obviously haha!" She laughs and then suddenly stops. I look at her with an eyebrow raised and nod.

"We're human." I crock. Her eyes twitch to my bedroom door and I lurch my self forward to the handle. "HARRY!" I scream running down the hall. Jess runs past me and swings open my guest room door. Him and Niall immediately stand up from the bed and look at us.

"Jesus Ellie. What happened to your head?" Harry strides towards me and runs his long fingers over a sensitive spot on my forehead. I shy away and look at Jess. She giggles.

"Doesn't matter. Jess cut herself and she felt pain." Harrys hand drops from my face and stares at Jess.

"Do you still have the cut?"

"Um actually.. Yup its still there." Jess says sarcastically while holding her finger in front of Harry's face. Harry shoves her out of the door way and walks out. I look at Niall and he shrugs.

"Where are you going?" I follow him and he turns into the kitchen. He walks to my knife stand and pulls out the biggest one.

"Whoa! Hey! What the hell are you doing?" I stand back away from him. My arms up in the air trying to calm him down.

"I wanna see if it will hurt." He looks down at his stomach. He's gone fucking insane.

"And if it does? Then what? Are you just gonna walk around with a hole in your stomach!?" I scream at him. His head snaps up and he drops the knife on the counter.

"I just.. Don't know any other way to know.." He leans back against the sink and runs his fingers through his hair. I walk towards him and hand him a cup.

"Drink it." He stares at the blood and turns green.

"I can't." He looks at me wide eyed and quickly pours it down the sink. I smile and walk towards him. He turns around and I don't recognize him. His eyes are red with tears. His nose running. His hands shaking.

"Harry?" I whispered and brush his hair out of his face.

"AH!" I squeal once I feel Harry's hands around me and my feet off the ground. He spins me around in a circle and laughs. His laughter travels through the entire house and my chest aches with happiness.

"Babe! Im human!!" He puts me down and gives me one last hug before opening the fridge to find nothing but blood bags. He quickly closes it and I hear his stomach crawl. He looks up at me with complete and utter despair, and I can't help but laugh.

"We gotta get groceries don't we?" Niall groans walking into the kitchen. I laugh and tell them halloween is gonna have to wait till next year while I walk to get my keys and wallet.

"Let's go get some food!" We all cheer like a bunch of savages and rush to the car. Harry tries to run but soon realizes it takes more effort than it did being a blood sucker. He looks back and shyly smiles as we all laugh.

"Oh hush." He grabs my head and squeezes. "Let's go." He flashes me a smile and gets in the car.

Harrys POV

"Harry we've been here for 30 minutes." Ellie sighs as I continue to look at the McDonald's menu. Jess and Niall are already seated. They're laughter fills the restaurant. Well Niall's anyway.

"I'll have theeeeeee 10 piece chicken nugget. A large fry and a lemonade." I smile at the cashier, she rolls her eyes.

"You took all that time for chicken nuggets." Ellie looks at me emotionless.

"Shh you got the same thing!" I protest and she giggles. I smile and get my food off the counter.

"Scoot over guys!" Ellie whines at our other two companies and they slide further into the booth. I open my box of nuggets and begin to stuff my face. I look over to see that niall and Jess have already finished 4 large fries.

"Stop taking my fries Zayn!" I yell with a mouth full of food. I begin to swallow when I realize what I just said. "I mean Niall.. I'm sorry." I swallow and look at Jess. She makes eye contact with me but doesn't move.

"Jess I really didn't mean to-"

"It's fine! He turned against you guys. Against me. I'm okay. I promise!" Her smile brightens up the entire restaurant and I believe her.

We spend the rest of the night at Duncan donuts. I forgot how delicious coffee is. Or even a chocolate donut. I could live on chocolate donuts. Donuts in general.

I look over at Ellie. Her skin still kissed by the sun from last summer. Her waving chestnut colored hair. Her beautiful blue eyes. I still remember the first time I saw them. She was so mad at me but I was so in love. She stops laughing with Jess and makes eye contact with me. For the first time I feel a fire in my chest I haven't felt in years. I am so in love with this girl.

"Are you ready to get home?" She asks as she wraps her arms around me. I stop her before she can follow the other two outside and kiss her. She whimpers with surprise but soon relaxes. I wrap my arms up her back and squeeze. Not too tight but tight enough to where I get every inch of her warmth. Her love.

Her thumbs rest on my temples and he fingers are laced in my hair. I breathe her sent in one last time and slowly pull away. I open my eyes only to see hers.

"I love you Harry." Her sweet voice rings in my ears.

"I love you Ellie." I give her one last kiss to the forehead and lead her outside.

"Let's get home. I'm tired as hell." Niall laughs and we all pile into the Jeep.
