6. The Dream

Delany's Pov:

I fell asleep once again but this time on her chest. This sleep felt different. I felt safe. I started to dream.

I was in my childhood bedroom. I looked around and saw Madison but she was on the other side of a mirror which was at a open field with a cliff near it. She reached out her hand to me. I took it. She lead me through to her side. I looked back to where the mirror was but didn't see it anymore. I then turned back around to where she was. She wasn't there anymore. All I saw was a shadow very far away. I ran as fast as I could to the shadow but every time I would get closer they would disappear to a different place. This kept on happening. The shadow was now standing near the cliff. Finally I got closer and I could see that it was her. I yelled her name but it was like she couldn't hear me. I finally reached her and tried to grab her but she was like a ghost. Every time I would try to hold her or touch her my hand would go through her. I said her name but she didn't respond. Finally I got in front of her and she had her thinking face on. She looked stressed and sad. I said her name again, she didn't answer again. She sat on the edge of cliff. I decided to do the same. I sat next to her. She took out her phone and started to play one of my favorite songs Dusk Till Dawn by Zayn and Sia. She looked like she was about to cry. She put the volume on the highest setting. She then set her phone down and stood up. She looked like she was about to jump. I tried to catch her but I couldn't. My arms just went right through her like the rest of the times. Then she did it. She jumped. There was no saving her. She was gone just like that. I would never have her back. She would never hug me again. She wouldn't even call me by the name Ber again. She was gone but yet I could still feel her presence. I then heard a voice that sounded just like Madison's whisper say, "I'll be with you from dusk till dawn." I turned around to see if she was there but there was only an empty field. I felt empty inside. Like there was a piece of me missing.

I woke up and looked around for Madison. She was right next to me. I sighed in relief. I then looked at the clock and saw that it was 3:30 am in the morning. I turned around to sleep again. I got closer to Madison. I didn't want her to leave me again. I laid my head in the crook of her neck and rapped my one arm around her. I held her tight like she wasn't gonna be there tomorrow. 'Why would she just jump off like that. Why did I feel so empty when she left me. It was like I needed her to survive.' I thought these things to myself. I decided that it would be best if I went to sleep now then overthink everything. That is what I did.
