Delaney's Pov:

Me and Madison just ended up wasting most of the day by watching movies. If I'm being honest I am a little nervous about going to the party. I promised myself I wouldn't drink to the point where I would do something that I will regret. Madison also said that she wouldn't drink at all because she had to drive there and back. "Oh shit we should start getting ready we only have 30 minutes," Madison says as she gets up and runs for her keys. "I'll be back in 15 minutes to come get you."

Madison's Pov:

I start driving to my house to get changed. I'm not completely sure what I'm gonna wear but once I get home I will only have a few minutes so I gotta decide now. I think I'm gonna just go with black pants cuffed, a white tank top, blue flannel with the sleeves rolled up and unbuttoned to the middle, forces, and dad socks. Once I got home I put it on and looked in the mirror. 'I wonder if Delaney will like it,' I thought to myself.

Delaney's Pov:

I went in my closet and looked for a outfit that would be comfy and fashionable. I went with lighter wash jeans that stopped a little bit before my ankles, white crop top, denim jacket with the same wash as the jeans, and black converse. Once I had everything on, I looked in the mirror. 'I wonder if Madison will like it,' I thought to myself.

We finally arrived at the party and I think you could hear the music from the other side of the state and smell alcohol in the next county. I think Madison could tell I was a little scared. She got out of the car and came around to my side and opened the door for me. "Thank you ma'am," I said with a smile. "Your welcome," she said with her beautiful smile. I was about to start walking when I just froze. I felt like I was paralyzed. I knew for a fact that this would happen. I tried to push away all the anxiety and potential panic attack. Madison closed the door and it scared me out of my trance. She came up next to me and said, "You ready to go inside." I didn't say anything because I was to scared. I opened my mouth but words wouldn't come out. She noticed what was happening and just hugged me I wrapped my arms around her and laid my head on her chest. She whispered in my ear, "We don't have to go in if you don't want to. We can go to the mountain and just let our thoughts talk it out if you would rather do that." I noticed how much she cared and that helped me calm down a lot more. I went on my tippy toes and got close enough to her ear so she could hear my whisper. "I would love to do that, but not tonight. I think I'm ready to go inside." She looked down at me and smiled. We got to the door and could hear people screaming, laughing, music, and talking. She looked down at me and saw that I was scared. "Grab my hand so we don't get lost," she shouted over all the noise. I did as she said and once I felt her touch I relaxed a little bit. We walked to the kitchen and I saw my friends and I guess Madison saw her friends because she said hi to two boys. Lana was talking to one of the boys and then she noticed that I was standing there. Madison was still holding my hand and Olivia noticed right away and she spit her drink out. Everyone just looked at her confused. "Sorry there was something in my drink," she said getting herself out of the awkward situation. She mouthed to me 'I knew it.' I just rolled my eyes and turned back the guys Madison was talking to. "Here Delaney I want you to meet my best friend James and their boyfriend Matt. James and Matt this is Delaney. Delaney this is James and Matt. James's pronouns are he/they and Matt's are they/them." "Nice to meet y'all. My pronouns are she/her by the way." "It's great to meet you too," James said.

Madison's Pov:

We finally got to the kitchen after pushing threw a crowd of drunk teens. I spotted my friends and Delaney spotted hers but she still stayed by my side. I could tell that she was talking to one of them and wouldn't notice if I started to talk. James finally noticed me and he also noticed that I was holding Delaney's hand. I didn't tell him about the panic attack stuff because that's just flat out rude. I just told them that she didn't want to get taken by some creepy person which sounded believable to me.

People kept on offering me drinks but I denied every single one. I promised that I would drive there and back and I am not drunk driving. I also have to make sure that Delaney doesn't get uncomfy by some random ass guy. I went to the kitchen where Delaney was. She was talking to her friends. All of the sudden this dude who I couldn't really make out because it was dark. He started to get close to one of Delaney's friends but she quickly pushed him off. Then this dumbass goes to the next. I was starting to get angry at this guy but I didn't want to start anything and cause a scene. Then this piece of shit goes on to Delaney. He starts to get close to Delaney and I could tell Delaney was very uncomfy and scared. That was the last straw. I got close to Delaney and the guy noticed. "Who are you?" he asked mad. I could finally tell who it was. It was Ben the schools player and basketball team captain. It came out that he did something to a girl that she didn't consent to and I started to worry that he would do that to Delaney as well. "Oh. I'm her girlfriend, so I would really appreciate it if you would get off her," I said. He looked at me like I'm a trend and he's so over it. Then this dude get close to Delaney's face, like really close to her face. He says something that I couldn't really here and Delaney looked like she was about to cry. I pushed the guy to the ground and he made a loud thud. "I told you to back off nicely but you didn't. Now you can choose what you want, me to punch you and beat you into a bloody pulp or you apologize to Delaney and leave and stop treating women like their your little puppets." He got up and looked me in the face and said, "Why don't you and your bitch leave along with her bitch friends." That was it I had heard enough from this guy. I pushed him to the ground again and started punching him in the face with a reason for each punch. Every punch was for every girl he screwed around with that didn't want it or lost their virginity to him because he lied to them and said that he loved them. I noticed that a crowd had formed around me. I'm sure somebody was videoing this and was gonna post it to the school tea page but I didn't care because he deserves this. He deserves to be put in his place because he should not be sexualizing girls making them think that a person only wants them for their body. I got off him once I thought I got my point across. His friends tried to help him up but that didn't work so instead they dragged him away. Everyone started to go back to their party. Some girls came up to me and thanked me for what I did. I turned back and saw Delaney and her friends still standing in there same spots. I looked Delaney in the eyes and she quickly ran into my arms and gave me a hug and started to cry in my arms. I looked at Lana and said, "Tell James and Matt that we left." Lana nodded in response and I walked outside with Delaney next to me holding on to me. Once we got outside I turned toward her and she wrapped her arms around my torso and I wrapped my arms around her shoulders. "Thank you," she said in between sniffles. "Your welcome. And that guy deserved it he's been messing with girls like their objects and their not."

I drove back to Delaney's house because no one was gonna be home and my mom was on a business trip as well. I looked over to the passenger side and saw Delaney sleeping. Once we got to her house I brought her upstairs to her room and laid her down on the bed. I got next to her and just laid there staring at the ceiling. I felt Delaney role over and lay her head on my chest and put her arm around my waist. I couldn't stop thinking about what would've happened if I didn't get there in time. But I stopped thinking once I remembered that,
