16. Protein Synthesis

A/N: Happy Pride Month to all my Guys, Gals, and Non-binary pals

Madison's Pov:

Once we were upstairs we started to do our project. It was quiet but not awkward. I couldn't help but look at her. Come on she's the most beautiful girl in the school every guy and girl wants her but she doesn't want them for some reason. I think she caught me looking a few times which was a little embarrassing so we're just gonna pretend it didn't happen. 

Delaney's Pov:

We were doing our project about Protein Synthesis. But Madison's beauty kept on distracting me. I mean come on she is the most attractive person at our school and she has better style than anyone there. I think she caught me a few times though which was embarrassing. 

I pulled out my computer to get started on the presentation because we haven't started that part. I pulled up google slides and started a new slide. "How many slides do you think the presentation should be?" I asked. "Um. What about eleven so we can have one with Protein Synthesis then an introductory slide with both of our names on it then we can both do five slides." "Okay." I shared the google slide with Madison and started on my five and the introductory slide. I figured that there should probably be a slide breaking Protein Synthesis down and then a separate slide for each thing in Protein Synthesis which would make up four of my slides. Then I would just need to make one more slide about the beginning of the process then Madison could make five slides about the process. 

After a while I heard someone knock on my door. "Yeah," I said. Michael opened the door and smiled at me once he saw Madison. I just rolled my eyes back at him. "What do you want?" "Well sassy. I'm taking Jamie to Grandma's for the weekend and I am going to a friends house. Also mom won't be home till Sunday night, she had some last minute work trip thing." "Ok have fun and say hi to grandma for me." "I will and have fun with Madison," he said winking at me. I threw a shoe at him and he quickly closed the door.  I would've ran and tackled him but I don't wanna cause a scene in front of Madison. I'm trying to impress her, not scare her. 

Madison's Pov:

I was having a mini celebration in my head. Me and Delaney are gonna be all alone. I swear if you're thinking that we are gonna do something, we're not so get your head out of the gutter. "Looks like we're gonna be all alone," Delaney says as she closes her laptop. I didn't know what to say back so I just smiled at her, she returned my smile with a slight laugh and smile. 

I grabbed my laptop out of back-pack. "Did you share the google slide with me?" I asked. "Yeah," she said as she grabs her phone off of her nightstand. I opened google slides and saw the project right away. I looked at what Delaney had done and I was much more than surprised. I mean I knew she was smart but I didn't know she was smart smart. "What would you like me to do for the presentation?" I asked very confused and feeling stupid. "Well you can just try and stretch out the process of Protein Synthesis over five slides," she said like it was nothing. I just sat there and stared at her with a look of confusion on my face. "I'm not doing the whole thing we said we would split it and if you need help I will help you. But before you start to ask me questions it should be in the book," she said looking straight into my soul. So before I asked her any questions I grabbed my text book out of my backpack. I opened to the chapter we are on and skimmed over the pages. I understood Protein Synthesis to a certain point. I'm not sure it was enough to stretch it over five slides. "How am I supposed to stretch all of this over five slides?" I asked very confused. "Well you can just write about each stage of Protein Synthesis which should be about four slides and then make a conclusion slide which would make five slides." "Ok," I said a little intimidated. 

Delaney's Pov:

I finished my part of the project and I'm guessing Madison is almost done with her part. I was just watching tiktok waiting for her to be done and I came across a video of Madison. It was a thirst trap. I was stunned to say the least. 'Damn I didn't know she could look this good,' I thought to myself. I thought about commenting something that I was to scared to say out loud but I couldn't because she was in the same room with me and that would be a little weird. So instead of commenting something bold I just liked the video. I was hoping she didn't have her notifications for tiktok on because if she did I would die of embarrassment. Thankfully she didn't. 

I heard her close her laptop and she looked up at me. "You done?" I asked. "Yup. I finished the five slides I had to do." "Took you long enough," I say in a teasing way. "Um. Rude." I asked her if she wanted to watch a movie and she agreed. We went down to my basement and we both jumped onto the bed that was down there. I sat next to her hoping that we would later cuddle. I turned Ice Age on. When Sid the sloth came on the screen she said, " Hey he kinda looks at you." So in return for her saying that I moved away from her. "Come on Ber, it was a joke." I couldn't resist the nickname she gave me, so I returned back to the original spot I was sitting in. 

We were pretty far in the movie and I laid my head on her shoulder. She put her on arm around me and laid her head on top of mine. I loved when she laid her head on top of mine, it made me feel safe. The movie was almost over and it was probably about eleven o'clock. I was sorta falling asleep. I felt myself drift to sleep before the movie ended. 

Madison's Pov:

 I felt Delaney fall asleep on my shoulder. I didn't want to wake her up so instead of bringing her upstairs to her room I decided it was best to just sleep on the bed we were already on. So I adjusted myself so I was laying down and made sure Anna was comfy and close to me. I was just about to go to sleep when Delaney adjusted the way she was sleeping and cuddled up close to me in her usual way with her one leg over mine, and her head in the crook of my neck. I kissed her forehead and said, "Goodnight Ber. Sleep well." And with that I was asleep.

Delaney's Pov:

DID SHE JUST KISS MY FOREHEAD. I was having a huge celebration in my head. I couldn't move or make any noise because then she would know that I was awake and I didn't need her to know that.
