28. I Messed Up

A/N: Before we start. Everyone listen to It Was Me by Mary Canterbury.  I've been listening to it on repeat. Anyways I love you all. 

Delaney's Pov: 

I packed my overnight bag and got in my car and started driving to Lana's house. While  I was driving I started to overthink. Yeah I know what you're thinking. No. It is not the best place to over think. 

~timeskip to Emmi's house (because i'm lazy)~

I text Lana that I'm just around the corner. I park in her driveway because everyone else parked on the road. I walk up to the door. I'm just about to knock when she opens the door. She pulls me into a hug before I can even react. I hug her back. 

We walk to the basement and everyone is there. James is even there. Mads isn't though. That's a good thing for now. 

I look at Lana and she gives me a comforting nod. I looked at everyone else and they all gave me reassuring looks. 

"Yall are probably wondering why I'm here." I looked around and everyone gave a small nod. 

"This morning I woke up and everything from last night started hitting me like a fucking train. So I went to a water tower where me and my brother always used to go to. I climbed up it and saw another person. I thought I would leave them alone. He stopped me once he saw me. We talked for a little bit and he asked for my number. I didn't think much of it, so I gave it to him. I went back home and didn't do much. I got a text from him around 9:30 and he asked if I wanted to get ice cream. I reluctantly agreed. We got ice cream and then he brought me home. And I kinda kissed him. It was short but I don't know why I did it."

I looked at everyone and they just blankly stared at me. James gave Lana a look, but there's no reason to think about. "Do you like him?" "What's his name?" "Is he cute?"  I get bombarded with many questions. Lana, being the queen she is, quiets them. 

"I'm not sure if I like him or not. His name is Elijah. And he looks like your general white boy." I get that all out in one breath. I feel like I'm answering questions from the press. 

"Do you know what his last name is?" Kai asked. "No," I say trying to remember if he told me. "So let me get this straight, you went on a date with this guy and kissed him but you don't know his full name." "Sorry," I said confused. Kai gives me her glare that means, 'stop apologizing' and 'you dumb bitch'. 

Liv passed Kai her computer and Kai started on her F.B.I. search. While she feverishly types everyone starts talking about stupid little things. I start thinking, once again. I didn't say anything about seeing Mads while at the ice cream parlor. I think she was with someone but I guess that's impossible since James is here. 

"I FOUND HIM!" Khai yells frightening all of us. "Well I think I did at least," she says with a soft chuckle.  

I walk over to where she is sitting. I look down at the computer that is on her lap. She has Instagram open and has his account on the screen. "That's him," I say with mild humiliation in my voice. "That's him?" Liv says after looking at the screen. I nod my head and she tries to contain her laugh. 

"Hey he can't be that bad," Lana says as she gets up to look at him. She walks back to where she was sitting. "I stand corrected," she says.

"He's not that bad," I say trying to be convincing enough. Everyone glares at me then back at the screen. I look at James and he is still sitting where he was before. "Your not gonna look at him?" Kai asks. "I'd like to not have nightmares," James says, making us all laugh. 

'I wonder what she's doing right now,' I think to myself

Madison's Pov:

I look at the clock and it says 12:45 am. I roll over and try to fall asleep without overthinking about her.
