KRYSTALLIA

Zach and I walked into the living room and saw Landon sitting there with a holopad in front of him.

"Sit down," he ordered and we immediately sat on the couch. He turned the hologram to us. It showed CCTV footage of police cars chasing us.

"Can any one of you explain what the hell that was?"

I explained everything, starting from when we drove out of the ice cream parlor until we came home.

Landon sat there unmoving, quietly processing everything he just heard. Zach and I kept glancing at each other, the silence in the air killing us. Until Landon spoke up.

"The man following you, Martin Pouche, he was the second-in-command of Prized Orion," he said, typing something into the holopad and a hologram of a person's file popped up. He turned it to us and it showed the guy who was chasing us.

"He may be warning us, but now that he's dead, we know they'll want payback," Landon said, drinking the last of his daiquiri. Putting down the glass, he wiped his mouth on the back of his hand, "And about the cops, they tipped them off and said you had cocaine in your car. I don't know how they believe that, but they did."

I rubbed my temple, "These are the police? Such imbecility."

"So lay low, don't take your car out for now, until everything dies down."

I nodded and he got up with his glass and walked towards me. He kissed my forehead and ruffled my hair, "I love you."

"I love you too."

He smiled and walked away. I looked back at the holopad and stared at the hologram.

We've never ambushed or stole from them. Why would they want to warn us? Unless...

"Diamond."

I heard Zach call out as he tucked a tendril of hair behind my ear. He then wrapped an arm around my shoulder and I leaned my head on him.

"It's been quite a day. Let's call it?" he said softly, caressing the side of my face. I nodded absentmindedly, staring at the holographic file in front of me.

He must've noticed because he held my shoulders and turned me to face him, "What's going on in that pretty head of yours?"

I shrugged, "Thinking."

"Of what?"

"Why they would want to warn us."

He nodded and pulled me close to him, "Do you wanna share?"

I bit my lip, "I feel like Smith is behind this."

"How so?" he asked and I looked at him, "She's still out there, and we don't know who she's working for, or with."

He nodded, "How about you sleep it off and talk to Kris and KT about it tomorrow when you're more energized."

I nodded against his shoulder and held his hand, "Let's go to bed."

He smiled and pecked my temple before getting up with me. I glanced at the hologram once more before walking out of the living room with Zach.

ZACHARY

We entered her bedroom and she immediately flopped onto the bed face down as I closed the door. I walked over to her and took off her shoes for her, setting them beside the bed. I sat beside her and gently rubbed her lower back.

She slowly pushed herself onto her back and opened her arms. I smiled and climbed into her embrace, resting my head on her chest. I felt her trace patterns on my shoulder with the very tip of her finger.

Her hair sprawled around her head and I played with the ends of both colors. I wasn't really paying attention to what she was tracing until I realized it was alphabets.

I spelled out in my head what she wrote faintly on my back.

L.

Y.

N.

N.

"Lynn?" I asked, raising my head a little to look at her. She snapped out of her trance, "Huh?"

"You wrote Lynn," I pointed out and she shook her head, "It's nothing."

I moved so I was lying next to her and gathered her in my arms, "What're you thinking?"

She buried her face in my chest and I stroked her soft hair, combing it with my fingers.

"It's just a gut feeling," she shrugged and I kissed the crown of her head, "You know, gut feeling is correct 90 percent of the time."

She looked up with a raised eyebrow, "But this gut feeling is so..."

She snuggled her head back into my chest, "So...I don't know, off?"

I rubbed her back, "I know. You feel frustrated not knowing."

"It's just annoying to feel left out," she grumbled and I kissed her temple, letting her know I'm here for her.

"Everything's going to be explained, you just have to be patient," I whispered in her ear. She nodded and exhaled softly. She was still on edge so I pulled her up so our faces were inches away.

"Let's take a bath."

I took some body wash and rubbed it in my hands before spreading it on my Diamond's arms. We were in the bathtub with her back against my chest.

She rested her head against my shoulder and I kissed her cheek, "I love you."

She smiled, "I love you."

"I want to go to an underwater restaurant someday," she suddenly stated and I raised an eyebrow, "Why don't you?"

"Kris is allergic to seafood and he doesn't trust me around anything underwater."

She gently scratched the stubble growing on my face, "You need a shave."

"Really? I thought you liked my facial hair," I said with a raised eyebrow. She shifted a little, "It just...doesn't look right on you."

I smirked and leaned in, "I'll shave if you give me a kiss."

She raised an eyebrow and pecked my lips lightly. When she pulled away, I held her chin in between my fingers and kissed her longer. I pulled away a little, pecking her once more before smiling.

I moved her slightly away from me and she tipped her hair back, letting me wash it. I lathered her hair up with the specific shampoo for her hair.

With care, I washed and rinsed her hair. Twirling her colored locks around my hand, I lightly pull her to me and placed a soft kiss on her shoulder.

God, I love this woman to death.
