KRYSTALLIA

In the SUV heading towards the base, I leaned my head against Zach's shoulder as he rested his head on mine. My hand was encased in his as he drew soothing circles with his thumb.

"I'm so confused," Sam said, staring at us. I could feel Zach smile and kiss my hair.

"What's so confusing?" he asked, burying his nose in my hair. Sam blinked, "You weren't this cuddly before."

I glanced at Zach and he just smiled. I explained, vaguely, "We just talked about something yesterday."

"Hm," Kris hummed and continued reading the news on his phone. James was sitting in the corner, twiddling his thumbs together. He looked nervously calm if it was a thing.

KT had crossed his arms and laid his head against the seat, resting. Sam was just doing his thing...being Sam.

We soon pulled up to the base and got out of the car. Zach held my hand and together with the rest, we walked into the house and into a separate basement that served as 'holding cells'.

We walked past the cells that were either empty or had one person in there. We passed Ezrick and I involuntarily looked at him.

He looked bad. Like very bad.

Bruises covered his arms as blood dripped down his face. I couldn't see it but I knew his body was completely covered with injuries and started to feel bad.

"Diamond?"

I looked at Zach to see him with a concerned face.

"What's wrong?" he asked softly and I sighed, shaking my head, "Nothing, I just..."

I glanced back at the bloodied-up traitor on his knees with handcuffs behind his back, "Feel bad for causing this."

He cupped my face with one hand, stroking my cheekbone softly, "You feel empathy. You know what he's going through. That makes you a decent human, but that doesn't justify his actions of betraying us. I won't stop you from feeling empathetic, but I won't allow him to get scot-free because you feel bad."

I nodded and kissed his cheek, "I won't let him get away with it, I was just reminded of the past."

He tensed up and I pecked his lips, "But don't worry, I won't ever get close to him, and I won't ever leave you."

He relaxed and kissed my forehead, "I love you."

"I love you."

We smiled at each other and walked to where the others had stopped.

"Krystal, you wanna do the honors?" Landon asked me and I nodded. Zach kissed me before letting my hand go. One of our guards opened the metal cell door and I walked in. I gestured for him to close the door and he did what he was told to.

The boy sat in the corner of the room, his knees pressed up against his chest. His hands were cuffed together and were on his lap.

I took out my knife and scraped it against the wall, making a very piercing sound. I put the knife away when I was a foot away from the boy. I gave him a look over and analyzed him as I walked around.

"17, has anxiety, parents have too high of an expectation, timid, afraid of confrontation, self-conscious, very gullible, a loner, and..."

I stopped next to him, "Recently went through a heartbreak."
