Chapter Thirty-Nine - Crystal Undead

After informing the twins about the message, they said they'll meet us there. I took my weapons of choice before loading them in the trunk of the SUV. Dylan closed it and we got in the car.

Only Zach and Dylan were with me. The rest stayed back at home but would be on standby.

He noticed how tense I was to face Tatiana again and placed a hand on my thigh, gently stroking it with his thumb.

"It'll be over soon, my love."

I nodded absentmindedly, looking out at the passing trees.

"I think I may retire from the gang," I blurted out, looking at Zach. He looked out the window before making eye contact with me, "Why?"

"It's been too much. Once this incident with Smith goes out to the public, there's going to be an increase of targets on our backs. People will want to take advantage now that E.A. is dead."

He nodded, thinking.

"If you want to retire, then we can both start our own small company," he said and I looked at him, confused, "How...?"

He raised an eyebrow and then I remembered, "Business graduate."

"Mhmm."

I smiled and hugged him, "Thank you for supporting me."

He chuckled and hugged me back, "Always, Diamond, always."

We arrived at the amusement park and got out of the car. I saw Kris leaning against his car while he talked to KT.

Both of them had been working hard, now that they each are invested in their own work. Kris being a gang leader and KT being a CEO.

Dylan opened the trunk and we unloaded the weapons. I walked over to the twins, "Hey."

"Kitten."

"Kryssie."

Ah, it's Landon.

I nudged my head towards the park, "Should we?"

They shared a glance before nodding simultaneously, "Let's go."

I latched the rifle onto my back and held the pistol. The other four were standing a few meters away from me. I looked around, trying to see in the dimming light when I heard rustling coming from my right.

I aimed the pistol in the general direction, ready to fire if needed. A silhouette came out from behind the tree with their hands out.

"Hello."

Tatiana Smith.

She walked out into the light and I had my gun trained on her, just in case something went wrong.

"No greeting?" she asked and I frowned, "Let's just get this over with."

"Okay, then," she drawled out and threw two daggers in my direction. I dodged it and they stabbed the tree behind.

I shot at her but she used the tree as a shield. Slowly, I crept up around the trees but she had the same idea. She fired her gun at me and I ducked, hiding behind the tree. I shoved my gun in the shoulder holster and pulled the rifle to the front.

Getting up, I fired at her but she had quick reflexes and went behind another tree. I sneaked to where I last saw her and took out my knife, ready to stab her if she was in range.
