ZACHARY
We were back in the car. She didn't tell me much, and I didn't want to pressure her, but she did mention that she feels like something's wrong. Like, something was missing from her life that she feels is out there somewhere.
I told her to relax and whatever she feels will come to her soon. That helped a little but she still feels like something is just...wrong. I reassured her and she said she'll let it go for now.
I should coax her into talking about it with her brothers. They know her better than me, but I'm slowly learning everything about my Diamond.
The bright headlights from the car behind suddenly shone through our rear windscreen and I looked through the side mirror to see the vehicle driving a little too close to us.
"Diamond?" I nudged her shoulder and she looked at the rearview mirror but cursed when the light reflected on it.
"Give me the number plate," she ordered and I nodded, using the side mirror to get a glimpse. A lorry was coming up on the left and I used the chance to take an empty can she had lying around.
"Open your window," I said and she pressed a button, sliding the window down, "What're you doing?"
"Trying to get the car to move," I said as I leaned in front, aiming the can at the lorry at a diagonal angle. I threw it and the can bounced off the lorry and towards the car behind. It moved to the right to dodge the object and I looked at the side mirror to catch the number plate.
"7TYP290."
"Pull out the stereo monitor and type it in," she said, speeding up.
"Pull out what...?" I muttered as I fumbled around the monitor and it popped out, flopping down into a keyboard and a second monitor appeared inside.
I didn't question it and typed the number plate in.
Searching...
"When did you have this?" I asked as I waited for the results. She chuckled, "We installed it when we got it. It's in every car we have for situations like this."
"What...?"
The monitor suddenly popped out and moved on top of the dashboard. It showed a car just like the one behind and had a description under it.
Vehicle name: 2018 Honda Civic VTi S
Owner: Martin Pouche"Why does that name sound familiar?" Diamond tapped her fingers lightly on the steering wheel. I raised an eyebrow, "It does?"
"Yeah, I feel like I've read his file somewhere."
I thought back to the times I read on enemy files when-
"Fuck!" we cursed when a bullet went through the rear windshield and the front.
"What the hell?" Diamond looked at the rearview mirror.
"We gotta get out of here," I said and she nodded, "Open the glove box and touch the top. There's a hidden compartment there."
I did as she told and opened the glove box, spotting a gun in there. I reached around and felt a handle. I pulled on it and the hidden compartment opened.
"What in the fuck...?"
There was a magnet type of grenade in there. I took it out and examined it, "I've been dating you for six months and never knew these existed in your car."
"Yeaaah, I'll explain that when we get home."
She rolled down my window with a press of a button, "Try to land it on the car. When it sticks to something, it'll blow up in three seconds."
I nodded and turned to find a way to try and throw it at an angle so it'll stick onto the car behind. I aimed it before sticking my arm out and throwing it. The car dodged and it landed on another car.
"Shit."
The grenade exploded and the car swerved into the next lane, crashing into the metal fence. The car following us sped up and Diamond tried to get it off our tails.
The road we were on was a straight line, so it wasn't good for escaping potential enemies.
Soon, we heard sirens and looked at the mirrors to see police cars a few cars away and a helicopter above. Without any reason whatsoever, they were apparently chasing us.
Two innocent citizens who just went out for dinner.
The helicopter shone its light at Diamond's car, alerting the other cars of our presence. Diamond continued speeding down the road, "We need a diversion, get them off our backs."
"Alright, uh..." I looked around her car, "Do you have any more explosives or whatnot?"
She gave me a look before turning back to the road, "Who do you take me for? Center console."
I opened it and saw a gun laying there on the cushion. I picked it up, "Well, I guess it could work."
She looked at the weapon in my hand, "What- no. Pull up the cushion."
I did as told and my jaw dropped.
"You know one bullet to this will destroy a mile diameter of land."
It was grenades, C-4s, and dynamite stacked onto each other.
"That's why we're blowing it up one by one," she said in a matter-of-fact tone. I nodded and took a stick of dynamite. It was covered in black paint so it wouldn't be noticeable in the dark.
"I need a rifle to set it off," I said and she pointed to where my feet were, "Reach above where your feet are. There's a compartment there with one."
I didn't even bother questioning it anymore. I just leaned down to get the handle of the compartment and pulled out the rifle. It was smaller in size to fit inside.
I took the dynamite and aimed it at the other side of the road. Throwing it out the window, I aimed the rifle and fired at it. It caused a big enough explosion to deter the helicopter from us.
"What about the car behind?" I asked, closing the window. She was about to say something when her phone went off. I picked it up for her and put it on speaker before moving it to her.
"Hello?"
"Krystal, why the fuck are cops on your tail?"

Romansa"Diamond?" "Hm?" He leaned in and pressed a kiss to my lips, "I love you." With a smile, I kissed him back, "I love you." "Tallia." Someone put their hand on my shoulder and turned me around. Looking at their face under the hood of their jacket, my...
