Oh, god.

They took him.

They took Kris.

They took my brother.

My world was crashing down around me.

I didn't even know I fell onto the ground until I felt arms around me, but paid no attention to them.

They took the leader of Crystal Undead.

They asked for it.

They asked for a war.

And a war they shall fucking get.

"Now we have a whole different motive on why we need to destroy them," I said and placed my hands on the holopad, "What do we do?"

"We have to check if they're still there. They know we have their first batch here so they know we know where their base is. And quick, because we saw what happened with Cain," KT explained and I cracked my knuckles, "Then let's get to work."

"Actually..."

We looked at James as I raised an eyebrow, "Yeah?"

"I have an idea."

KT and I shared a glance before nodding, "Go ahead."

"How about seeking help from the US Department of Defense?"

KT glanced at me as I glanced at him as we glanced at everyone around.

"Absolutely not."

"No way."

"Definitely not."

"N to the O, no."

"Why would we need to seek help from them anyway?" I asked and he walked from the corner of the room to the holopad, "We have the assets but they have the specialists. If we want to find him faster, we're going to have to go for professional help."

"Your 'professional help' is currently trying to find you and the gang. I don't think they're gonna be friendly when we show up on the doorstep of the Pentagon," I said and he shook his head.

"I know someone there. He can get us in undetected and straight to the Secretary of Defense."

"Sean Marshall?" KT asked and James nodded. I looked at him with disbelief, "How is this 'someone' going to get us in undetected and straight to Marshall?"

"He's a lieutenant general in the army."

"And that's going to help how?" Sam joined in on the planning.

"They trust him so they won't question him."

"Yeah, but when someone catches on that he's lying, they're going to convict him of a felony and kill us on the spot," I said, leaving no room for discussion.

We're not getting help from the DoD and that's final.

"I can't believe you talked me into this," I said, crossing my arms in front of my chest. I heard James chuckle lightly, "Now you know where you get your persuasion from."

"We're so going to die the moment we step through the doors," Sam said dejectedly.

"Think positive, guys. Maybe it'll work out," Zach said from the driver's seat beside me.
