Chapter Thirty-Three - Best of Friends

KRYSTALLIA

I stepped into the room and Tatiana appeared on the screen, smiling at me, "Now that we've covered Kristopher's part of the situation, let's cover Zachary's."

She pressed a button and it showed three pictures. Matt, Nate, and Ben.

"Matthew Rogers, Nathaniel Sullivan, and Benjamin Kingston. Including Zachary, the four of them were the best of friends. Well...until someone decides to betray the others."

She smiled, "Your objective is to find out which one is the one who took Zachary. Once again, no help from your family, you have three minutes. Time starts-"

"It's Ben."

She blinked, "I'm sorry, what?"

"Benjamin Kingston was the one who took Zachary Kingston."

She blinked again before biting her lip, "Could you please enlighten me on why you think it's him?"

I stepped forward, "It's obvious. Zachary disappeared the day he left for his mother's house for Thanksgiving. You didn't put his mother as a choice and the other two have their own families to celebrate the holiday with so who was the only one who could possibly take Zachary that's on the list of options? His twin brother, Benjamin."

She opened her mouth slightly before closing it again.

"Honestly, I would've been surprised either way if you took your time or did...that, but congratulations, you've got it right. Benjamin Kingston was the one who took Zachary Kingston."

"So may I go to the next level?" I asked, thinking about Blake who was bleeding out at the moment.

"No, this is too quick. How about you rest your mind and let me think of a new mission?"

She turned the screen off and I sighed, turning around. KT and James were standing there and I looked down at the revolver in my hand.

"Why would Blake do that?" KT muttered and I smiled sadly at him, "Big chance Smith used his parents. I mean, Joseph was the spy so he must've told her about his weakness. But the question is does Uncle Jason and Aunt Rose know?"

"No, they would've told us the minute they knew," James defended his brother and sister-in-law but I shook my head, "Look how well telling went with the others."

He looked down and Tatiana's voice appeared again, "Hey, turn around please."

I did and looked at her. She waved, "You're going to do the next level and I'll think of one while you do that. So, give him a moment to move the tools."

She ended the sentence and a guy came in from the next room and placed a box on the table. He walked back into the room and Tatiana closed the door.

"Open the box and take out the things inside," she said and I opened the lid, pouring everything out onto the table.

"All those tools are clues to a story. That's right, your mission is to finish the story of Zachary's disappearance. From who I manipulated to what weapons Benjamin used."

I looked at the table, "This is seriously all you're giving me?"

"Well, I prepared a short paragraph for you to fill in the blanks. It's like...a cloze test, you know? The gap-filling exercise?"
