JAMES
I thought I knew what death felt like.
This was completely not like what I expected.
From being assassinated fourteen years ago to now, I thought I knew everything.
The only thing I didn't know, was how death truly felt like.
They say when you die, life flashes before your eyes. Your accomplishments, your loved ones, every memory you cherished. I never believed it.
I thought, when I die, I'd be completely alone. I thought the way I die would be from a mistake on one of my missions. I thought, my children would never be there to see my last moments.
I couldn't believe my own actions when I pulled the gun towards me just as she pulled the trigger.
I didn't feel the bullet enter my chest. I didn't feel the blood flow out of me. I didn't feel my heart slow down.
I heard my only daughter's shocked gasp. I saw the shock evident on my children's faces. I knew they'd hate me for doing what I did.
But all I ever wanted was the best for them.
I would only slow them down.
They'd be better without me. Those fourteen years proved it.
Though, I hope they know that I'll be looking down at them, along with their mother, my wife, smiling at their accomplishments.
I hope they'd call me dad one last time.
KRYSTALLIA
I covered my mouth when I saw blood spilling out of his chest and onto the floor.
"James?"
He just smiled before falling onto the floor. I quickly knelt and used my jacket to try and stop the blood flow.
"No, no, no..."
"It's too late, Kryssie. He won't make it."
"No, he will!"
Suddenly, the walls broke down, and there stood the army and our allies.
I cradled his head in my lap and saw him smile as he came and held my hand. I held tightly, completely not ready for him to go.
"You're going to be okay. I promise you," I said, but he smiled. He just smiled.
The same smile that he wore to cheer me up when I was a toddler.
The same smile that he wore proudly when I won competitions.
The same smile that he will wear during his final moments.
"Please...don't go..."
That smile was still etched onto his face as he softly said his final words, "I love you...my children..."
Ever so gently, his grip on my hand loosened.
"No, no, please..." I shook my head in denial, but no tears could escape.
"Dad...don't go..." I buried my face in his shoulder, tears suppressed so deep inside that I couldn't cry.
I couldn't shed a single tear.

"We couldn't find her," the Secretary said but I wasn't listening. KT must've noticed my mind was somewhere else.
