Chapter Eleven - Birthday

Saturday, 7th November 2020

ZACHARY

I woke up feeling energized. It was my birthday today and I'm spending it with my girlfriend, brother, and our friends.

I looked down at the girl in my arms and smiled, kissing her forehead, "Morning, Diamond."

She shuffled and yawned quietly, "Morning."

I leaned down to nuzzle against her neck. She ran her slender fingers through my hair, "Isn't it someone's birthday?"

I smiled and moved so I was laying on her, "I don't know, how about you tell me?"

She grazed the tips of her fingers on my back, "Ben's."

I looked up with the most unimpressed face. She smiled and leaned up to kiss my jaw, "And yours."

I snuggled my face back in her neck, "That's right."

She kissed the top of my head, "Happy birthday, Zach."

"Thank you, Diamond," I kissed her clavicle, "Let's take a shower, hm?"

"You go ahead, I'll be right there," she said and I nodded, climbing off her. I took my towel and walked into the bathroom, closing the door slightly. I hung up the towel and stripped down, putting my clothes in the hamper before getting in the shower.

I adjusted the temperature and started to shower the sleep away. I heard the door slide open and smiled. The shower door opened and someone stood behind me, running her fingernails up my back.

"Diamond," I warned and she kissed the small of my back, "Hm?"

"Stop that."

"Or what?"

"Or I'll fuck you against this wall."

"I'd like to see you try."

A towel hung low around my waist as Diamond and I walked into her closet. We picked out our clothing before changing into them. I took our towels and hung them up on the clothing rack before taking Diamond in my arms and placing a soft kiss on her lips, "I love you."

She put her arms around my neck, "I love you back."

We shared one more kiss before I took her hand in mine and we walked out of her room and down the stairs. Diamond slightly swung our arms in a playful mood and I smiled, "You're happy."

"It's your birthday, of course I'm happy," she said with a charming smile. When we got to the bottom of the staircase, I twirled her around and placed my arm on her waist, "I don't know why you're so happy about the day I came into the world."

She looked up at me with those captivating blue eyes of hers, "It's because without it, the love of my life wouldn't exist."

I smiled and kissed her cheek, "So sappy today."

"Because it's your birthday, you get 'sappy me' for just one day."

"Fine by me, as long as your emotions are actually on your face," I smiled as we stepped into the dining room. The twins were already eating breakfast. Kris was reading the news on the tablet while KT studied the files of the enemies.

"Happy birthday, Zach," KT said, looking up from the table with a smile. I gave him a friendly nod, "Thanks."

I looked at Diamond with a raised eyebrow and she shook her head.
