Chapter Thirty-Four - Last Level

Monday, 7th December 2020

KRYSTALLIA

"I'm glad to announce that this will be your last level. Your prize is just waiting in the next room, so shall we begin?" Tatiana asked and I nodded.

"Great, so look behind you."

I turned around and it was a compartment with a sliding door.

"Slide it open, your mission is right inside."

I placed the revolver down on the table and held the handle, sliding the metal door. The three of us took a step back, slightly shocked.

A large bomb with a timer sat there and Tatiana laughed, "Do you like it?"

I gulped and turned around, "What do you want me to do?"

She smiled, "Okay, fine, your mission is to defuse the bomb. There's a pair of scissors on the table. Your time is right on the bomb. Your family may help you. Time starts now."

The bomb activated and I took the pair of scissors and started to find the wire that will disarm it. KT and James came and helped me check.

It was only three minutes of a timer so I was starting to sweat. It was never me defusing the bomb, it was usually either Zach or Mark, so I was terrified.

But all the wires ended up not being the ones to connect to the fuse.

"Wait," James suddenly said and I mumbled in response, "What?"

"Move away for a bit," he said and I did, KT and I looking at him questioningly. He turned the bomb slightly to the left and stuck his hand in. We heard a 'flick' and the timer stopped at 0:52.

"What?" KT and I asked simultaneously.

"Every bomb has an off switch. It just depends if they're hidden, trapped, or neither."

So the Sherlock thing was real?

"He's very right. This bomb was nothing but a decoy. The real one was getting ready."

The door closed and we heard a thud before it opened again. This time, a bigger bomb with much more wires.

"This is the real bomb, you have one minute this time. Choose the correct wire and you win the game. Choose the wrong one or time runs out, you lose. Your family can help you, and I can show you where the off switch is."

She pressed a button and the bomb turned around to show a switch, but there's a glass box over it with metal covering. There was no way we could break that open in one minute.

"So are you ready? Time starts now."

Once again, I checked which wire connects to the fuse. But alas, none of them do. I wanted to try the red one but I was terrified to.

"Kryssie," KT called and I hummed.

"Any wire you cut is going to defuse it."

"What?"

"They're all interconnected in some way. If you cut one wire, that'll cut the power source and the bomb will shut down," he explained and I looked at the bomb.

"We don't have much time, Kryssie."

"Tallia, trust your gut."

I bit my lip nervously.

0:23

"Kryssie, it's going to be okay."
