Shadow Thief (Epilogue Part 1)

Years passed since Kaku's final arrest and the beginning of your final semester in your first year of UA High School. Since then, you and Yaoyorozu had really made names for yourselves, Creati: The Everything Hero and The Absorbing Man: Elemental Hero. Not the best hero names, especially for yourself, but hey, you were both near the top 30 and doing your jobs just fine. Since graduation, you were able to fund your own agency and got calls pretty regularly in.

You were inside your agency, looking over data on a case you were chasing after for the last two weeks. Looking over all the evidence on the case so far, things looked somewhat open and shut. Still, there was something off about it. As you were thinking, you heard the door to your office open. You smiled once you saw your top sidekick walk inside, The Stretching Hero, the Elongated Man.

(Y/N): Elong, how are things going?

Elongated Man: Fine, sir. Um...your fiance is here to see you. Should I-

(Y/N): Of course. How's that report coming along?

Elongated Man: Fine sir. Should be finished by tonight.

(Y/N): Good man. I'll let you get back to it.

Elongated Man: Yes, sir!

He bowed and walked out of the room and nodded. Next person to walk inside was Momo Yaoyorozu, your fiance. You had proposed to her a few weeks after graduating and now, the wedding day grew ever closer to you both. You smiled at her as she walked into the room and pecked you on the cheek.

Yaoyorozu: How are things going here?

(Y/N): Fine I guess. Just a little lost.

Yaoyorozu: Have you tried these alleys?

(Y/N): Too obvious. And the fire escapes on the back of the building are too rusted and damage to provide any support to climb.

Yaoyorozu: Quirk?

(Y/N): Unknown. Top theory is phasing or shadow manipulation.

Yaoyorozu: Shadow manipulation.

(Y/N): Yeah, it's weird. It's kinda like-

Yaoyorozu: No. I mean, it is. The perpetrator blocked these three cameras visible to him with the shadow manipulation. However, this fourth camera facing this road here was able to get a small corner shot.

(Y/N): Which gives us a clear shot of him moving shadows and committing the robbery.

Yaoyorozu: Then using the shadows he's already manipulating-

(Y/N): He masks his escape and flies off into the alleyways and escapes.

Yaoyorozu: Exactly!

You two smiled at one another and quickly kissed before you grabbed your phone.

(Y/N): Elong, get me records of everyone in the city who has some form of Shadow quirk. And if they are registered with no quirk, double-check that with doctors!

You hung up and smiled at Yaoyorozu, who gleefully smiled back at you.

(Y/N): That's how you catch a criminal.

Yaoyorozu smiled and shook her head slightly before walking over to the door. You sighed and closed up the case file before chasing after her.

(Y/N): Why is it that I'm always chasing after you?

Yaoyorozu: (Shrugs) Maybe I'm just too much of a try-hard hero to stop? Who knows? But...I'm happy you get to chase me. (She glanced outside before tapping her butt. She then walked off.) I'll let you decide.
