Healing Love

Chapter 2

Jung Hyuk found himself in a forest in the middle of the night. He was running chasing someone, to be exact, he was chasing her. Ji Hyun. His Ji Hyun. She was running very fast and not turning back though he had called him many times. She was holding something in her arms. Looks like a bundle or a wrap. Jung Hyuk can't see exactly what it is, but how she held it, it seems like a baby.

"Ji Hyun, wait. Stop running. Where are you going?" he called out for her, but she kept running.

He kept chasing her until they reached a cliff. "Ji Hyun, STOP!" he yelled, and she stopped.

She turned to face him, and as he predicted, she was holding a baby in her arms. She looks pale, and she was wearing a plain white gown. Her long black hair is being let down, and her face was as white as paper. The baby was wrapped in a white blanket too.

"Ji Hyun, please don't do it. Come here, come to me,"  he begged her to walk away from the cliff.

"You lied to me, Oppa. You told me you will never leave me. You lied," she uttered the word.

"I am not intended to leave you. I further my studies to be a better person. I don't know you are carrying my baby. If I know, I will stay. I am so so sorry. But please, don't do stupid things,"  he begged and begged.

"Stupid? The only stupid thing I did is fallen in love with you and trust you 100%,"  she yelled while showing her left index finger at him.

"Let's talk about these things. Please, baby, come here," he reached out his hand to pull her. She is too close to the cliff.

"I'm sorry, Oppa, there is nothing to talk about. I do not want to be a burden and stop you from achieving your dream. Saranghae," and she jumped off the cliff.

"NO!"

Jung Hyuk woke up full of sweats on his face. It's that nightmare again. He keeps having that nightmare every now and then. He rubbed his face with his palms and checked the clock. It's 5 am. He got off his bed and went to the kitchen, and drank a glass of water to calm down. He then moved to his study room and got on his weight machine. Whenever he stressed up, he chose to exercise.

Today is the 10th anniversary of her death. On this date, 10 years ago, he lost the love of his life. Not only he lost her, but he also lost their unborn child. What makes him sadder is he did not know not until 6 months later. Jung Hyuk will not be able to forget this date. After he had finished work out, he straight away showered and got ready. Every year, during this date, he will take off from work to visit her. He will bring fresh flowers in the morning, go to the columbarium, and stay there for a couple of hours. He will leave before midday as her family will come around that time, and Jung Hyuk will avoid meeting them as he doesn't want to create more conflicts with them.

And like in previous years, he went out at 6.30 in the morning after getting ready to buy some fresh flowers. Ji Hyun loved white flowers, so Jung Hyuk will bring white roses or white lilies to visit her. The florist he frequents already know what kind of flowers he will buy, and she usually will prepare many lovely white flowers for him to choose from.

"Good Morning Dr Ri. How have you been?" Lily, the florist, greet him as soon as he arrived.

"I am fine. How about you, Lily?" he asked.

The lady in her early 40s smiled and nodded, "I'm good. So buying white flowers as usual?"

He nodded lightly, "Give me the best you got."

"Okay. I just received special white roses last night. Would you like to see it?" Lily went to the back of her shop to get the newly arrived white roses to show to Jung Hyuk. "What do you think. It's nice, right?" Lily asked her customer's opinion.
