Doctors appointments always give me jitters. I usually do not have a good experience when seeing a doctor. My husband holds my hand firm to tell me things are going to be okay. His touch is my calming source.

"So, Mrs Ri, you ready to take out the IUD?" I am being addressed as Mrs Ri here to follow the western culture, but I still keep my given name, Yoon Jin Ah, in all of the documentation.

"Yes, Dr Montgomery. I am more than ready," I smile at the elegant doctor in front of me, Dr Addison Montgomery. She is the chief of the Ob-Gyn department in Rotunda Hospital, where my husband is working and my husband's professor for his PhD paper. Jung Hyuk oppa wanted to pursue his PhD to be her student as she is a double board-certified Ob-gyn, perinatology and neonatal surgeon.

She flaunts her wide smile that showcases the intelligent wrinkles around her face. I love how she is confident with her age and never afraid to show that she is ageing. I love how she can still look pretty at the age of 53 and still rocking beautiful fashion. Graduated from the US, she came to Dublin after a painful divorce because her husband fell in love with an intern and subsequent failed relationships. She wanted to get a fresh start and to detached herself from those men that had hurt her. Now, she is single and happy with her life. It's an open secret that she is dating Greg O'Shea, a widower billionaire, but nothing official from them yet.

"You have a good Ob-Gyn husband, but you still come to see me. Are you not confident with him?" she jokes.

I shake my head, "No. I don't want him to see me as a patient. It will make me no different than his other patients. I want him to see me exclusively as a wife."

"I am happy to have that privilege," he chips in our conversation.

Dr Addison smirks at her student, "I get what you mean. So, are you ready?"

I nod and follow her to the examination room. My husband stays behind because it's only a simple procedure.

"Are you sure you are not getting a new one?" my gynae reconfirm again before the procedure.

"Yes, I want to get pregnant."

"Noted."

The procedure is relatively quick, and it's not as uncomfortable during the insertion.

"So, Mrs Ri, it's best to refrain from sex for a couple of days to avoid being uncomfortable. I believe Dr Ri should know about this well," she takes a glance towards my husband and the latter nods. She then raised her eyebrows, "It's Tuesday today, so you guys just need to wait for the weekends before getting busy," she winks.

Both Jung Hyuk oppa and I turn red and don't know where to hide our blushing faces, but Dr Montgomery just laugh. Western people are more open to talking about sex and intimacy, to which my Asian conservative self still trying to adapt.

"We will take your advice, Addison," Jung Hyuk answered short and thanked Dr Montgomery before we leave her room.

Weekends are my favourite part of the week. Although I am a stay at home mom on weekends, my husband and my son are around, and I get to spend time with them the whole day. I also love making Korean breakfast for my family on Saturday and Sunday as I don't have pressure to get it done quick. I can take time to make delicious Korean food.

"Smells delicious. Are you making kimchi jjigae?" my husband asked as soon as he comes back from his morning jog. Giving me a quick morning kiss on the cheek, he smells the jjigae from the pot. "I am salivating already. How do you know I am craving for kimchi jjigae?"
