The day for Yoon Jin Ah to go back to university finally arrived. She has mixed feelings about it; excited to meet her college mates and hanging out with Sung Kyung, but, on the other hand, she feels terrible to leave her baby behind. She has been looking at Jae Wook, who is inside his Nuna baby swing, for 20 minutes now. Many mothers did write on the forum how hard it was for them to go back to work for the first time, and now Jin Ah totally understands them. It is not as easy as it seems.
"Jagiya, we need to go now, or you going to be late on your first day," Jung Hyuk called out for his wife. When Jin Ah is not responding, he walked to her and touched her shoulders slowly. "Jagiya, let's go."
Jin Ah turned to her husband's touch, and she looks about to cry, and Jung Hyuk understands that. He, too, was having a hard time going back to work after his paternity leave, so it must be more challenging for his wife, who has been a full-time mom for the past 5 months, to part with Jae Wook.
"Oppa....."
Jung Hyuk helped her to get up from the floor and hug her to console her, "I know it's not easy, but it's just for a while. You are going to meet him in the evening. The first time is always the hardest, but eventually, you are going to be okay."
Jin Ah finally calmed down. She kissed her son before walking away from the baby rocker. She met with her new nanny, Ra Mi Ran and briefed her once again on what she should do. Ra Mi Ran had begun working for a couple of days as training, and so far, Jin Ah was satisfied with her work.
"Just remember that Jae Wook cannot hold her own bottle yet. Feed him properly like how I teach you. Please be alert at all times, arasso. If you are unsure, you can ask Mi Kyung ahjumma," she instructed the new nanny one last time before leaving the house.
The 46-year-old woman nodded and jot down the essential notes in her small book, "Nae samonim."
Ra Mi Ran was selected as their new nanny as she has experienced taking care of an autistic child before, and she has a certificate in childcare for special babies. She's married with two children, ages 10 and 15. Jin Ah said she's the best fit for the job.
After making sure things are all under control, she walked towards the door where her husband is waiting for her. "Ready?" he reached out his hand, and Jin Ah reached for it. Together, they walked towards the elevator.
"Enjoy your first day at school," Jung Hyuk said as he handed his wife her bag. They would be driving their own cars as it will be easier for Jin Ah to move around and come back home if there is any emergency.
"You too, Oppa."
He pulled her in for a hug before giving her a sweet kiss on the lips. "See you this evening," he said as he tidied up her hair.
He opened the car for her and let her get inside. After making sure she has fastened all the seat belts, he only got into his own Lincoln Navigator. He waited for Jin Ah to start driving first before following her from behind. Their respective hospital and college are the same way.
He gets next to her car at a junction where they need to part ways and rolled down his window. She did the same when she saw Jung Hyuk did that. "Drive carefully. Text me when you arrived," he winked at her.
Jin Ah, on the other car, just chuckled. She already accepts the fact that she's going to live with that version of Ri Jung Hyuk for the rest of her life. She gave him a flying kiss, and he 'captured' it. The two of them laughed silly at the traffic light. As the light turns green, they separated. Jin ah took the left turn while Jung Hyuk drove straight to his hospital.
Lee Sung Kyung jumped in joy when she saw her dear friend came out from the Kia car. She ran towards her, and they hugged each other. It's been a while they haven't met with each other as Jin Ah now is quite busy being a mother, and Sung Kyung understands.
