Chapter 7

Dr Lee Min Jung was waiting for someone at a café near Haeundae Beach. It's been a while since she hadn't met him as both were busy with their works. At 1 pm sharp, a familiar figure approaching her table and smiling widely at her. Wearing his sunnies, he looks good as always. The man can easily get any woman he wants, but too bad, he had given up to be in love a decade ago. He stopped himself from falling in love as a punishment for what happened to his ex-lover.

"You seems happy today. Any good news?" Min Jung asked as Jung Hyuk took his seat in front of her.

Taking off his Ray-Ban aviator shades, he raised his eyebrows and showed Min Jung his gummy smile, "Of course I am happy as you invited me for lunch. It's been a while I have not had a date with my pretty noona."

Min Jung scoffed at him and rolled her eyes, "Chamna... what a sweet talker."

"What sweet talk? Seriously noona, I am happy you call me for lunch. I have been missing you for some time."

"Ohhh, so sweet. But let me think, you haven't called me for more than 2 months, and when you called me 2 weeks ago, you asked me to help you. Anyway, thanks for missing me," Jung Hyuk smirked bashfully after Min Jung said that to him.

"Mihane, noona, I am busy with works and always forgot to give you a call. So how have you been doing? Is aunty doing well?" he asked.

"She's good. You always asked how she is, but I wonder when you are ready to meet her? She always wants to meet you, you know?" Jung Hyuk just smiles every time Min Jung stated that. Sometimes Min Jung is weird with Jung Hyuk's attitude. He is very kind and always asked her how her mother is doing, but he still not ready yet to meet her mom. She wonders why? Maybe he isn't ready yet. To him, her mother is still the 'secret woman' his father is seeing.

Jung Hyuk and Min Jung got close when they are in the university. She is his senior in medical school. Since there are not many Koreans studying in the university, all the Korean students there are close. They are extra close because they are sunbae and hoobae, besides their family history. Lee Min Jung is his dad's daughter from a 'secret relationship'. He caught them by accident when he was in high school. He was so mad when he found out that his dad is cheating on his mother. Ever since that, his relationship with his dad changed. He is no longer close with him. He also hates his dad's other family, but his relationship with Min Jung changed when in university because she helped him overcome his sadness and depression when he lost Ji Hyun. She never left him alone and took care of him well. From then on, he sees Min Jung as his personal counsellor. He decided to put his hatred behind him and befriended his 'half-sister'.

"So, tell me who that girl is? Spill it!" Min Jung can't wait to know who is the girl he brought to her clinic over a week ago. One day, he called and told her that he is bringing someone to her clinic for her abortion service, but he asked her help not to do it.

Min Jung has a license to perform the abortion, but as a doctor herself, she is against abortion. She will only perform it if her patients' pregnancy is life-threatening or can cause the patient's psychological trauma. Since she also took psychology as her minor in medical school, she used both of her expertise to give the best to her patients.

"She is someone I want to help. She reminds me of 'her'," Jung Hyuk answered in short.

Min Jung knows who is the 'her' Jung Hyuk is referring to. His life is still very much revolves around the deceased girl, "What do you mean by that? I don't see any resemblance of her and JiHyun."

Jung Hyuk shrugged his shoulders, "I don't know. When I see how helpless she is somehow, I feel like Ji Hyun was experiencing the same thing when she found out she was pregnant, and I am nowhere in the country. When I pulled her from jumping off the cliff, I know that I need to help her. If no one does, she might act recklessly. And I do believe Ji Hyun too, need someone to stop her from doing something stupid back then but sadly there was no one," he sounded solemn at the end of the conversation when he thought about Ji Hyun.
