(Jung Hyuk POV)

Being an Obstetrics and Gynaecology specialist, I have been working with women for years. Mainly pregnant ladies. I always find them are incredible. How can the gender that is always labelled as the soft or fragile ones be so strong when carrying a child inside them?

Women are superior. Aside from science, I think there is a reason why God makes women or females are the ones that be able to bear a child. They are full of love inside them. I don't think men with their egos would sacrifice for 10 months to bring another human being into the world.

Carrying a child and sometimes children inside their bodies for 10 months. Going through physical changes to their bodies, the hormone changes, and they have no control over it. Some are going through extreme vomiting and dehydration in the earlier stages. The unlucky ones might need to be hospitalised because of Hyperemesis Gravidarum. The uneasiness on their bodies when the babies grow, uncomfortable sleep and the peak of all that is the painful experience when the time comes. The birth of their child or children. No one would want to go through all that without the abundance of love. And women willing to go through those. How amazing is that?

When my own wife got pregnant, I got to experience being with a pregnant woman first-hand. Not as a doctor but as her partner. It is a totally new experience for me. It totally gets me into a parent mode instead of the usual doctor made.

When the stick showed double lines, I could not explain my feeling at that time. It's indescribable. A mixture of happy, emotional and couldn't believe that another life that is part of you has existed.

The sublime feelings continued when we found two heartbeats instead of one inside my wife's womb. It is bizarre to know that we will have twins because there are no twins in my family from both sides. And Jin Ah, her family is very small compared to mine. She is the only child. Her parents too. So she has no cousins. The closest relative is her second cousin which she rarely meets. As far I remember, she never mentions there is no twin in her family. The first ultrasound picture of my babies has still been inserted into my wallet. One of the most beautiful photos I have seen. I can't believe that the two dots inside my leather wallet now just greeted me a few hours ago, and they are indeed lovely, just like their first print.

The woman who brought them to the world is sleeping after battling with labour for hours. She looks fatigue and pales due to the loss of blood, but she seems calm. It's like the big test is over, and she is taking a rest.

I caress her pretty face, which is still chubby due to water retention during pregnancy. However, she is still the most beautiful woman in my world. This amazing wife of mine had just given birth to two beautiful princesses and completes my life. She does it all-natural. Pushing two babies naturally without an epidural. Two babies. Most women asked for the numb drugs even to push one baby, but my wife endured the pain to bring our twin girls out for hours. My superwoman.

Jin Ah had gone through a lot for the past 9 months. Carrying two babies wasn't easy. The first trimester she had terrible morning sickness and couldn't have anything except for ice cream, milkshakes and crackers. She hardly gets a good sleep at night due to throwing up. She sleeps most of the time during the day that Jae Wook needs to play inside our room so that she can 'monitor' him though Jae Wook played on his own most of the time. Luckily, our boy is not a naughty boy, and he is usually satisfied playing with his own toys. She broke down when Jae Wook got a fever and needed to be rushed to the ER. It is not something unusual. Jae Wook always ended up in the ER when he had a fever, as more often than not, he would have breathing problems when he got sick. It's something a child with Down Syndrome faces. She would cry for hours, thinking that she wasn't a good mother since she got pregnant.
