Jung Hyuk is a bit too careful with his conversation with Jin Ah after In Guk pointed out his mistake. Sometimes he even talked to Jin Ah in informality (jeodongmal). Jin Ah noticed that, and she does feel awkward with his change of behaviour. She thought she might do something wrong to him.
"Oppa. Why are you lately talks to me more formal? I thought we agree to talk casually (in banmal) with each other? Did I do something wrong?" Jung Hyuk, who was writing his report, stopped typing and looking at Jin Ah, who is now standing in front of his desk.
"I talked in informality? Really?" he pretended that he did not know, but Jin Ah did not buy it.
"What's bothering you? There must be something, right? Tell me, please. If I am wrong, I will atone to my mistake, " she begged gently that made Jung Hyuk feels guilty.
He got up from his desk, took Jin Ah's hand and walked to the sofa. "Come and sit down, here," he asked Jin Ah to sat next to him. "Jin Ah yah."
"Hmmmmm"
"Do I by any chance.....mmmm......have ever mistakenly...called you Ji Hyun?" he is careful by his choice of words, not wanting to hurt her.
"Is that what's bothering you these days? That is what makes you talk to me informality?" Jin Ah asked her husband back.
He nodded, and he really looked sorry.
"Yes, you did call me Ji Hyun, but it only happened twice so far. I know you had a slip of the tongue. I am totally okay with it because I know before me, she is the only woman whose name you remembered," she said.
Knowing how special Ji Hyun is in his life, Jin Ah did not feel hurt when he accidentally called her with his ex-girlfriend's name. She totally understood it. It can happen to anybody. She could have made the same mistake, too, if she is not careful. Furthermore, all these years, Jung Hyuk has been missing Ji Hyun, and, logically, her name is always at the tip of his tongue.
Jung Hyuk let out a long sigh feeling guilty about his action. Though it happened accidentally, he should have realised it and not let it happen. Jin Ah has sacrificed her youth and compromising living with him. He took her hands and held them tight.
"Mihane Jin Ah yah. Chincha mihane. I should have not done that. I should not have called you that."
"Gwenchana, oppa. I know you didn't mean it. It's a mistake," she convinced him that she is okay. It only happened twice anyway.
Jung Hyuk caressed the top of his wife's hands, a habit of his every time he held her hand, "Why didn't you stop me, then?" You should have told me and corrected me. Only then I could realise my mistake."
Jin Ah raised her husband's face so that she can look at him, "It's only for that brief moment. The second after, you called me by my name back. I just do not want to make an issue with it."
Jung Hyuk felt relieved that she is not hurt by his action. He is also thankful that she is an understanding person. He pulled her and give her a warm embrace. "Thank you for being understanding and if I ever make a mistake again, please correct me and tell me that I am wrong," he said.
Jin Ah gently patted her husband's back, "So, if that is the reason you speak formally to me?"
"Hmmm..."
"Can you please stop it? I feel distant with you, and I don't like that feeling," she told him honestly about how she feels.
Letting go of his embrace, Jung Hyuk caressed her face lovely, "Arasso. Let's talk in banmal back," Jin Ah smiled as soon as he said that. "By the way, tomorrow night, Min Jung noona invited us to her house. Her mother wanted to cook for our dinner," he told her.
