(Busan)

Jung Hyuk traced the black Steinway & Sons piano at his house. He never touched that piano since his mother bought it when he moved into the penthouse. In fact, he never played the piano again after that fateful day more than 10 years ago. He just stops playing it.

Kim Sung Ryung bought the piano for her son as playing the piano is Jung Hyuk's favourite hobby. When he was a teenager, he released his stress from studying by playing the piano. Sometimes, he could play for two hours non stop. However, after that terrible accident that took Ji Hyun from him. He stopped playing. Even when his psychiatrist suggested for him to play as part of his therapy, he refused. Because piano played an essential element in his past relationship with the deceased. Ji Hyun agreed to date Jung Hyuk after seeing him play the piano to her. Over the years, a piano will always remind Jung Hyuk of his then-girlfriend; hence he never touched it again.

However, lately, there is an urge inside Jung Hyuk to play his favourite musical instrument. The piano is like calling him to touch it. Each time he passed the piano, the yearning to play it again increases. Partly it is because of his wife, Yoon Jin Ah. During their honeymoon, after learning that he can play the piano, Jin Ah wished that he would be able to play again one day. Although at that time, she did not really know why he stopped playing, she is sincerely praying for him.

Jung Hyuk pulled the piano bench and took a seat on it. Then, he opened the piano's fallboard for the first time and stared at the black and white keys on the keyboard. Slowly, he placed his fingers on the keys and began to scale down the notes. The tune is perfect, although it had not been touched for more than 6 years. His fingers are still flexible, and he remembered to move on the notes too. He sat there, looking and thinking of what song he should play for his 'comeback' to show to his wife.

Flashback

Jung Hyuk and Jin Ah were in the car driving back from Seoul. Ahjumma and their baby Jae Wook had fallen asleep at the back seat. Jin Ah is trying to find the local radio tune when the Seoul frequency can no longer cover the area they are at now. As she is busy tuning in, she came to a channel of classical music. The music is so calming that it makes Jin Ah stop tuning to find the channel she intended.

"You love classical music?" Jung Hyuk asked from the driver's seat.

"A little bit, sometimes I do listen to it, especially when I am stressed out. Classical piano pieces help me to calm," Jin Ah said as she leaned back on the seat and looking at the scenery outside while listening to the songs from the radio. "You must love classical music, right, Yeobo?"

"Hmmm....I used to love it a lot. But, it's been a while I have not listened to it nor play it," Jung Hyuk hasn't touched a piano for more than a decade since he lost Ji Hyun. He just lost his passion for music.

Jin Ah looked at her husband pitifully. It must be so sad for him that he lost the passion for one of his favourite hobbies. She touched his hand gently and caressed it, "I hope one day, you will be able to play the music again."

Jung Hyuk took her hand and kissed it at the back of it without saying anything, and Jin Ah understands him.

Suddenly, Schubert's serenade is playing on the radio. It's her favourite piece, and Jung Hyuk can hear his wife humming to the melody.
