Sirens filled the night air as the confusion started to settle. Bryce watched in horror as Jaden dropped to his knees in the middle of the street, holding his sister's limp body as he screamed his tears into existence. Josh sat on the grass, rocking back and forth with his hands in his hair and his face stained with tears. He was completely numb to the last 5 minutes but couldn't manage to look away.
Griffin was cuffed and marched nearly comatose towards the back of the cop car he was being led to. Blake rushed up screaming Amelie's name until he realized the scene he'd come up on: "Where's Amelie?"
An officer guided him towards the back of a second ambulance before asking: "You can only ride with her if she's related to you?"
*END BRYCE'S POV*
*JADEN'S POV*
The hospital waiting room was filled with more questions than answers when Blake rushed inside in a panic.
Blake: "Is Amelie okay?"
Jaden: "Why tf are you looking for my girlfriend?"
Blake: *looking shocked* "She was in the other ambulance!"
Josh: "What?"
Blake: "I watched them load her up. They found her body in the grass. Was she hit too?"
Before Blake could answer Jaden's parents rushed in and immediately raced over towards the doctor finally coming out from the back and announced only one person at a time could come back.
Mom: *rushing after the doctor* "I'm going!"
Jaden was left alone in the waiting room with Josh, Blake, his dad, and way more questions than answers.
Dad: *finally breaking the silence* "How could you let this happen?"
