*GRIFF’S POV*

She was more than just his twin sister’s best friend. She was his first love. Even if she never admitted it, he knew once upon a time she’d cared for him too. Now he was happy with his girl, Eva and she was engaged to the love of her life, Josh and he had settled into his role as childhood friend and protector.

Tonight, she and his sister had taken over his room at the frat house to help Amelie get ready for her date with Blake… yes his frat brother was dating his sister and he should been pissed about it but he was a nice enough guy

Tonight, she and his sister had taken over his room at the frat house to help Amelie get ready for her date with Blake… yes his frat brother was dating his sister and he should been pissed about it but he was a nice enough guy. Way better than the kid that broke her heart, Jaden.

Amelie: “That’s huge that he’s going to get to declare for the NBA so early but what will he do about his degree?”

It was clear that hadn’t occurred to her yet:
“I’m not sure but he decided to defer for a year and stick around while I tour so maybe it’ll be enough time to finish?”

Griff: “Defer a pro contract? Yeah that’s not how that works at all."

*AMELIE'S POV*

She was trying to focus on getting ready for the date she was trying to be excited about but her best friend looked on the verge of tears.

Amelie: "Are you sure, Griff?"

Griff: "1000% It's almost always a now or never situation

Griff: "1000% It's almost always a now or never situation."

You: "I can't let him give that up. Why would he offer that?"

Amelie: "Sweetie, that boy is so in love with you. You need to tell him you know, though and change his mind or you'll feel so guilty."

Her best friend looked absolutely torn as she changed the subject:
"I- Uh- I need to get back to the studio. Chase is supposed to be coming to help me with a verse."

*CHARLI'S POV*

She knew Josh's fiance was recording a song with Chase and tried to play it cool but it was so frustrating. She already got all of Ben's daddy's attention, why did she need Chase's too?

Charli took advantage of the chance to talk to her though in hopes she could finally get a straight answer:
"What is Josh doing about basketball? One minute he's excited but next he's telling me he can't go?"

Y/N: "I don't know but it's something him and I need to talk about for sure."

Charli: "No offense but I'm Ben's mom and if I'm going to be a single parent for 2/3rd of the year I think I deserve a say, also."

Chase: "Can we work this out later, ladies? I'm kinda on a time crunch."

*CHASE'S POV*

Charli gave him a quick kiss goodbye and he turned back to his guitar to work on the rifle that was stuck in his head. He could tell that wasn't the end of it too because his duet partner looked steaming, ready to blow if she didn't rant.

Chase turned towards her and put his pick down:"Okay just get it over with amd tell me what's on your mind so we can get to recording

Chase turned towards her and put his pick down:
"Okay just get it over with amd tell me what's on your mind so we can get to recording."

She surprised him by asking:
"What is with you and Charli? I see you playing kissy-face on the studio but on tour you were definitely hooking up with other girls."

She wasn't wrong but he knew she wouldn't understand. He really liked Charli but he wasn't so sure he was ready to settle down when he still had so many new things to experience.

*YOUR POV*

Chase chose his words carefully as he explained:
"I don't mean to be so indecisive. It's just being a young rockstar with all its perks is a once in a lifetime opportunity. I can't get that back."

You: "Yeah, but she's not a rockstar, she's literally a mom. What if she IS ready? Are you being fair?"

Chase was silent but it hit you like a ton of bricks that Josh was ready for that life too. He hadn't even hesitated with giving up a future in the NBA to follow you around the country.

What if what was best for them was to be a family with each other and their son while you lived a different lifestyle? It definitely seemed like Charli thought so with how worried she was about Josh lately.
