Josh: “We have to stop and tell your parents. They’re gonna flip!”
You: “I don’t really know any details yet. Can we just wait until tomorrow?”
Josh: “Sure, babe but you do remember Charli and Ben are coming tomorrow to stay for the weekend?”
You definitely had forgotten in the excitement but just smiled: “For sure. Just think my nerves are finally catching up with me. I really wanna go home and relax.”
When you got home, you hopped in the shower. You came out, still drying your hair to find him setting up dinner take out he’d ordered for you two.

You sat on the bed next to him and he handed you a plate: “How does it feel that your dreams are finally coming true?”
You: “I never thought this would happen, to be honest. I figured I’d end up being a music teacher or something similar with my degree. Jaden’s dream was always to be a performer. I never even thought to dream about it.”
Josh: “Baby, seeing you on stage the first time… I could have told you that you were destined for this. Remember what I told you then?”
You: “That it was the most perfect moment of your life.”
Josh kissed you sweetly: “Even if you didn’t know it then. I knew enough for the both of us. You are something special.”
You: “I love you so much.”
He pulled your empty plate out of your hand and sat it with his on the nightstand, pulling you into his arms.
You: *playfully* "Hey, I was eating that."
He pinned you down with a kiss and smiled against your lips: "Dessert first."
You were completely powerless to resist this boy. His hands on your body, his lips on your mouth, his weight bearing down between your thighs... You'd do just about anything to make sure you felt this forever.
His hand had already moved beneath your nightgown and was urging you on. Not that you needed it. Just the feel of his tanned arms propped next to your cheek, holding his body up was enough to incite a throbbing deep inside of you.
He pushed deep and withdrew, teasing you. It tampered with your sanity and you wrapped your thighs around his waist to pull him back to you. His arms held you captive as he drove his hips back towards you. He matched your rapid, ragged breath until you both collapsed in the euphoric aftermath.
The next morning, you were gliding around the kitchen, making a cup of coffee and replaying every moment of the night before while you waited for Josh to get back. The moment you heard the knock at the door, you remembered… Charli.
She rushed in as soon as you opened the door carrying 2 bags and a package of diapers in one hand and Ben in the other.
Charli: *handing you the baby* “Can you play with him just long enough for me to go to the bathroom?”
You: “Uh- Yeah. Sure-”
When she came back out, she looked beyond frustrated so you explained: “Josh just ran to campus to pick up this season’s jersey but he should be back any minute.”
Charli: *yawning* “No worries. God I’m so tired. Would I be awful asking you to watch him a bit so I can lay down for a short nap? He was up, fussy all night long.”
You: “A- are you sure you’re okay leaving him with just me?”
Charli: “Honey, you’re probably gonna be his step-mom someday. You got this.”
You were alone with Ben for the first time and honestly it wasn’t going as badly as you had been afraid of. It even left you with wandering thoughts of doing this yourself someday. Would that even be in your future? Would Josh ever want to have a family now that he had a son already? You cuddled up to Ben and let the thoughts flow out as fast as they were rushing in. You couldn’t help but think what a sweet baby he was as he handed you his teddy bear with a giggle.

Your phone vibrated and you pulled it out to find a pic from Josh in his new jersey. Ben batted at the phone so you decided to facetime him.
Josh: “Hey bab- Oh my God, is Charli already there? I’m so sorry I didn’t realize it’d been that long.”
You: “It’s okay. Charli is taking a nap so it’s just me and Ben for right now. We are doing good.”
Ben poked at the screen and babbled: “Dadaaaa.”
Josh: “Oh my God, did he-”
You: *squealing in excitement at his accomplishment* “Ben!! Is that your dada? Yes it is!! What a good boy.”
