AUTHOR'S NOTE: As promised, here begins the revival for the next OG story. Stay tuned to see where our couples all are now and how adulting changes things. This story will be told through alternating POVs.

*YOUR POV*

You were stuck late in the recording studio for the 4th night that week but tonight wasn’t too bad. Tonight you had company and he was exactly the inspiration you needed to get the lyrics to your latest love song down… Well, when he wasn’t distracting you.

Josh had crept across the room while you sang along to the piano track you’d pre-recorded earlier, trying to perfect the verse and he wrapped his arms around you from behind

Josh had crept across the room while you sang along to the piano track you’d pre-recorded earlier, trying to perfect the verse and he wrapped his arms around you from behind. You swayed along with the music, successfully distracted when he spun you around to kiss you.

Your moment was interrupted by your manager, Alex rushing in:
“Good, I found you! You’re never going to believe who I just got off the phone with!”

You pulled away, still giggling from your moment with Josh, and distractedly answered:
“What? I mean- Who?”

He glared at Josh whose phone rang at the same moment. He kissed you and excused himself to answer it. Your manager beamed:
“That was the head of the summer music festival circuit. You’ve been invited to perform on their main stages across the country all summer long.”

*ALEX'S POV*

His soaring starlet seemed too stunned to speak as he clarified:
“Did you hear me? You would have to leave in 2 weeks!”

She saw Josh through the glass and stuttered out:
“I- I don’t know.”

Alex turned to see what she was looking at and shook his head:
“Please tell me that you aren’t considering turning this down?”

Her response seemed stuck in her throat still when Josh walked back in looking like he’d seen a ghost.

Josh: “T- That was my college coach. He just-"

Y/N: “Baby, you’re making me nervous. Is everything okay? Are you in trouble?”

Josh: “I was just offered an NBA contract for the upcoming season.”

*YOUR POV*

With no thought to what that could mean to your announcement or your relationship, you jumped up in his arms, squealing. As you slid down to your tiptoes, the realization finally hit and you asked:
“We don’t have a team local. Does this mean you have to move away?”

Josh: “Baby, there is no me. There is we and I don’t know. They said it was all negotiable.”

Alex interrupted:
“Our girl has some pretty exciting news of her own, by the way.”

Josh turned to you as you explained:
“I was offered another tour this summer.”

Alex: “It’s not just a tour of local bars like before. These are all festivals, kicking off with Coachella in less than a month.”

Josh: “Oh my God! THAT IS HUGE!!!!”

You were too scared to get excited. You hadn’t done the math but you knew these two dreams coming true, conflicted.

*JOSH'S POV*

Josh: “Baby, why aren’t you more excited?! This is amazing!! I always knew you’d make it big but this is like BIG! And I’m going to get my dream of playing in the NBA. This is unreal!?!”

She could barely get out at a whisper:
“When would we even see each other? I- I don’t want to ruin our plans.”

Alex: “The final show is the first weekend in September which gets you home just in time for when NBA teams start training camp. It’s perfect.”

Josh: “Uh- actually. I would have to leave for workouts that start- Uh- In a week…”

Josh could see the tears welling up behind her eyes and she seemed afraid of guilting him.

Alex: “I don’t mean to be pushy but this is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Every artist that I’ve signed that plays at Coachella’s main stage has gone on to sell a platinum record within a year.”

Regardless, Josh could read her like a book and pulled her into a hug, and reassured:
“I can defer the offer until next season. You should definitely accept the tour.”
