"This is the day." I whispered.
Ngumiti ako. It's a genuine smile, meaning I am really happy.
Because today supposed to be our anniversary. August 2.
Things went by so fast, we casually talk sometimes. Talagang busy lang siya kaya hindi kami nakakapag-kita. I stopped going there too. Nagalit si Varheine.
"Aalis ako." paalam ko kay Varheine, kinatok ko pa ang kwarto niya.
"Uuwi ka na naman? Dapat, ikaw ang pupuntahan, ah!" sermon niya sa 'kin. Napa-irap naman ako.
"Over acting, Sonne? Busy 'yon." giit ko. Tinuro ko pa sa kaniya ang outfit ko at mas napa-iling siya.
"Over acting, Ate? Ako nga,pre-law, pero hindi naman ganoon ka-busy?" Umirap ako. He's comparing him.
"You're different." hirit ko. "Bakit ka nakikipag talo?"
Umiling siya. Nakunsensya naman ako.
"It supposed to be our fourth anniversary... I want to celebrate it, at least." sabi ko, nahihiya pa. Ang non-sense ko.
Pinakawalan niya rin naman ako matapos 'yon. He just want me to stay home. Ayaw niya na 'kong mag drive nang ganoon kalayo at katagal.
I am wearing a cropped top light red long sleeves off shoulder, and a denim light blue skirt paired with a black belt.
This is a day that I would never allow him to forget.
I looked at my phone as he texted me. Napa-ngiti ako.
Maki:
lunch
He was always like this. Simpleng text lang pero buo na ang araw ko lang kasi nag-cacare siyang malaman ko ang ginagawa niya.
Me:
saan?
I think, mga four ng hapon pa ako makaka-uwi kaya alam kong hindi ko rin siya mahahanap sa kung nasaan siya ngayon.
Maki:
sa room lang namin, may tinatapos akong plate nakatulugan ko kagabi amp ahhhahaha
Ngumiti ako. Hindi na nakapag reply dahil nag green light na. I just imagined him drawing his engineering plates, then sleeping.
Ang tamad!
Maybe two hours had passed, hindi na kinaya ng katawan ko ang byahe. Kapag malungkot ko lang yata kaya byumahe nang byumahe.
When I tried to rest, I reached for my phone and I saw some text from Maki.
Maki:
di ko yata matatapos to masakeeett
He sent that two hours ago. I felt worried. He was never a grade conscious so seeing him like this, made my heart fluttered. Studious si koya!
There was also a text an hour ago,
Maki:
sabon
di pumasok prof ko don hahahah buti tropa ko presdient namin
Reading his messages, ewan ko kung matutuwa ba 'ko kasi may chance pa siya pero mas natawa ako kasi sipsip siya sa class officer. Napaka lang.
Me:
saan ka mag memeryenda?
I asked that because I'll join him. Para naman hindi masyadong dull ang anniversary namin.
Joke lang.
"Hi!" I greeted him as I sat down in front of him.
"Oh, bakit ka nandito?" tanong niya na takang-taka habang kumakain.
