I left the school with my head reeling. I thought it was complicated to get Bella into that school, but apparently getting her out is harder. There were more forms to sign than the time I lost my social security card. And, as you can imagine, there were a bunch of forms to sign.
I inspected the truck again. It had run fine getting to the school after the accident, and besides the dent there really didn't seem to be any damage done.
All I wanted to do was go home, collapse into bed and sleep for the next week, but I forced myself to go to the library. My house had been redone for Bella's arrival, but the one thing I hadn't been able to fix was the WI-FI. It had always been slow, but it had been particularly bad the past couple of days. I figured since the library was a couple of hours from closing I'd go there and do some research. On the Cullens and who they really were. What they really were.
——
The internet didn't seem to have a better idea of what the Cullens were than I did. I almost gave up after an hour of fruitless searching, but then an article caught my eye. It was a small webpage dedicated to all things supernatural. While many of the pages I had visited had either given me answers that were none to realistic (dragons, mummys, the walking dead) or didn't fit the description, this one, finally, seemed to have answers.

Vampires have been consigned to mythical creatures of the night, but they walk among us. They are real. Many feast on the flesh of humans, some choose animals or donated blood. These two sub-category of vampire have been fighting for centuries, each trying to convert the other to each others ways.
A vampire will be superhuman strong, move with impossible speed and dexterity, be nearly indestructible, and glitter in sunlight. Due to the last very prominent affliction, many vampires choose repost cloudy places to live, or stay inside much of the day.
There is much that we don't know about this reclusive beast, but we do know that they are very real and very dangerous. If you find yourself in a situation where you are faced with a vampire my advice for you is to run as fast as you can in the opposite direction.
——
Edward had sparkled in the sunlight. And he hadn't been crushed by my car hitting him. But vampires seemed a bit far fetched. The article hadn't given much advice about fighting or ridding oneself of a vampire. I wanted to know that before having anything to do with the Cullens again. Just in case.
I printed the article, grudgingly paying the fee for use of the library printer and went back to research. I searched for two more hours until the library closed, and then went hime to continue.
No one seemed to know how to kill a vampire. There was the age old myth of garlic, but that seemed to have been debunked resoundingly. It seemed like silver bullets, or just silver in general, could kill them. And some "experts" believed that wooden stakes to the heart could be fatal. The only resoundingly accepted method seemed to be dismemberment and fire.
I puzzled over this. How was I going to dismember a vampire who's skin was next to impenetrable and who could move ten times faster than I? It seemed next to impossible.
