Dean
I know somethings up because Sam insists on getting separate rooms. Not that I have a problem putting some distance between me and the blood sucker.
"Sammy what's going on?" I ask as soon as the door closes behind us.
He puts his bag on the be and turns around. His eyes are wild and he looks about ready to bolt.
"I had a dream." He says, swallowing hard before continuing. "He- the yellow eyed demon- visited me. And others, there were others there. and he said something about a contest that we were all a part of and it being the greatest honor of our lives and then he said I was his favorite and shoed me a vision of what looked like the night mom died and then-"
I close the distance between us and put my hands on his shoulder. "Slow down and tell me everything."
It takes him twenty minutes to get through the whole dream. When he's done I sit on the bed and pull out my computer.
"What are you looking for?" Sam asks, seeming surprised that I'm the one doing the research. Which is fair because this is usually his thing.
"I'm trying to find out more about your demonic competition. And what he could be been doing by baptizing babies in his blood."
"Good luck." He huffs, throwing himself on the other bed and closing his eyes.
I spend three Horus researching and Sam takes a nap. I don't know what the other two were up to and I don't care. I don't find anything on the competition the web and make a note to ask Bobby about it. I have more luck on the demonic baptism. It looks like it's some way to mark children for the demon to com back to them. Children who are baptized in demon blood can develop power later in life. It doesn't seem like this is something that happens often. If all the kids Sam saw in his dream were baptized like him it would more than double the number of reported cases.
I blow out a breath and lean back into the wall. Sam probably has powers he doesn't even know about. Powers that could help us defeat this guy. He also has a target o this back for every demon that comes near him. And what about the competition? That can't be anything good. The only mention I found of any kind of demonic contest for humans was to be the vessel for Lucifer. That was a foot note at the bottom of one article and I haven't been able to find anything else about it. If that really is what this is about then that means that hell is preparing to let Lucifer loose on the world and that would not end well.
Im startled by a knock at the door. I open the door a crack and see Charlie. "What?" I grump.
"We were wondering what the plan is for the rest of the day." He says.
I roll my eyes and open the door more. "Sammy boy time to wake up. We have a demon to catch."

Charlie
First we drive to the boys old house. The original house burned down years ago, but a new house has gone up since and the gate is still intact. Dean parks the car across the street and we all get out. Carlisle hangs back.
"Are you coming?" I ask.
"I'm not sure I should." He responds looking at the house aprehenisvly.
I wave the boys ahead and they go knock on the door. "What's going on?" I ask, taking his hand in mine.
"We used to live here, Lawrence I mean. It wasn't this house, but this neighborhood." He looks paler than normal and shakes his head. "I remember the Winchester's house burning down. I remember it an I id nothing. I didn't even know what really killed her. If I had known I could have saved Jesper."
He starts to cry silently and I pull him into my chest. "This wasn't your fault. How would you have known? Everyone thought it was a tragic accident nothing more. There was nothing you could- or should- have done."
He looks up at me his eyes watery. "But I'm supposed to be able to protect my family and now Esme and Jasper is dead, Alice won't speak to anyone, Edward is a glorified caretaker, and Rosalie and Emmet aren't even on the same continent. My family is scattered to the wind and I'm chasing some demon from hell in Kansas. This isn't how this is supposed to go. We were supposed to be able to enjoy each other with out fearing for our lives. For your life. What if I can't protect you either? I can't lose you. Not after all this."
"Shhhh. shhh. You're ok. I'm not going anywhere. I've got my sword and I've got you and between the two I'm pretty set." I hug him closer and gently rock from side to side.
I let him cry into my chest until he's all cried out and keep holding him until the boys come out of the house, faces dark.
