Carlisle catches up with the truck with a scary amount of ease. He wasn't lying when he said that he could run faster than a car. I don't bother slowing down as he keeps pace beside the truck, but I do open the passenger side window. Carlisle reaches through and grabs the handle, using it to pull himself through the window and into the seat.
I should be used to him doing incredible shit like that by now but it still amazes me every time.
"Eyes on the road, Charlie."
I hadn't even noticed that I was staring at him, jaw slightly open until he speaks, but I jerk my eyes back to the road in front of us.
"So..." I say. "Where are we going?"
"The airport I guess." Carlisle sighs.
"Then Vienna?"
"Then Vienna."
The rest of the ride passes in comfortable silence, and we pull up to the Seattle airport after a traffic filled 5-hour drive. It should only take 3, but Seattle isn't exactly known for traffic free roads. Carlisle books us tickets along the way and makes sure we have everything we'll need to get through customs. I've always kept my passport in the truck with my other important documents. Probably on the best place for it, but it came in handy this time. Carlisle doesn't have his but makes a few calls and we pick up a fake along the way.
I park the car in the long-term parking garage, even though I don't know the next time I'll be in the states. Carlisle grabs the bags from the back and starts heading towards the elevator that will take us to security.
"You coming?" He asks when I don't immediately follow him.
"Yeah. Just give me a minute, I need to make a phone call."
He nods and keeps walking, giving me a moment of privacy for the call.
The phone rings four times before Dean picks up. "This is Dean."
"Hi Dean, this is Charlie."
"Charlie! How are you?"
"We're fine. Had a run in with the wolves, but we got what we needed."
"Good. You need us to take care of the wolves?"
"They shouldn't cause any more trouble, and they'll take out any vamps that head that direction, so I don't think it hurts to leave them alone. Anyway, Carlisle and I are headed to Vienna. It sounds like Carlisle's kids all headed that direction and we haven't had any luck with phones, so we're going in person."
"Sounds good."
"Any luck finding a way out of the deal? Last I heard Bobby was going after a Djinn" I ask, starting to walk toward the elevator where Carlisle is waiting.
"Not yet but we're still working on it. Djinn fell through."
"I'm sorry. Carlisle and I will keep looking in Vienna and let you know if we find anything."
"Thanks. Good luck finding the kids."
"Thank you." I hang up and smile at Carlisle. He reaches a free hand out for mine and I take it a squeeze tight.
"Ready?"
"As I'll ever be."
"I love you." Carlisle says, leaning down to brush his lips across mine.
"I love you too." I say, holding him close.

Edward makes all the arrangements for us, and we end up in a hotel after the flight.
