Bobby
I decided to give Dean space for the rest of the night, but tomorrow we need to leave and therefore we have to leave Sam here. Preferably, burned and buried. I need a beer, and from the way Carlisle and Charlie look they do too.
"I'm getting drunk, and we can come back to this in the morning." I tell them as we climb into the truck.
"I could get behind a beer or two." Charlie says.
Carlisle doesn't say anything, but I see him grab Charlie's hand in the back seat. I don't know what's going on with the two of them. I've heard a couple brief whispered arguments since they've been here, but for all that they seem devoted to each other. We spend the night at the motel across from the bar we find about fifteen minutes outside Cold Oak and drive back into town first thing in the morning.
When we pull up next to the impala, I don't see Dean where we left him, and Sam's body is also missing.
"I'm going to go find him." I say to Charlie and Carlisle. "Let me talk to him alone for a minute first, then we can make a plan."
The nod and don't follow when I get out and start looking. It doesn't take long for me to find them, both of them, sitting against trees sipping coffee.
"Hey Bobby!" Sam says when he sees me. "You ok? You look like you've seen a ghost."
Dean won't meet my eyes, but I keep my glare on him when I reply. "Never better. How are you feeling Sam. Last night was a rough one."
He shrugs, fingers tightening on his cup. "I don't remember much after I started running towards the forest. Dean filled me in on the rest of it."
I snort. "Oh, I'm sure he did. And I think he needs to fill me in on some of it too."
Sam shoots Dean a confused look, but Dean continues to avoid all eye contact. Finally, he looks at me and stand up.
"we should talk." He says, walking away from Sam.
"We should." I say and follow. "Charlie and Carlisle are in the car waiting for you." I yell over my shoulder at Sam.
Dean
"Have you lost your damn mind?" Bobby all but should at me as soon as Sam is out of ear shot.
"I had to bring him back, Bobby, he's my brother." My voice breaks on the last word but I can't bring myself to care. Its true. I would be lost without Sam, and I know that he'd do the same for me.
"He may be your brother, but that doesn't mean that you can just bring him back from the dead left and right!" Bobby takes a deep breath, obviously trying to calm down. "How did you do it?"
"You don't want to know." I say, not wanting to admit what I did to him or to myself.
"Dean." He says, warning clear in his voice. "You tell me now or I leave and I'm not coming back."
I close my eyes and count to ten. "I made a deal. With the crossroads demon. I have a year and then my soul goes to hell."
Bobby inhales sharpy. "That was stupid."
I shake my head and laugh a little. "I know it was stupid, but its Sammy. I have to protect him."
"Yeah, I know how that goes." He says and pulls me into a hug. "We'll get you out of this. One way or another."
I hold on tight and nod. "Thank you, Bobby."
