Charlie and Carlise leave and then it's just me taking care of Alice. After Jesper died, Emmet and Rosalie went to Europe to focus on their relationship. At least that's what they told us. I know it was probably to get away from the darkness that's settled over the house. With just Alice and me in the house it's near silent all the time. She still isn't talking, but at least she's moving a little now.
I'm out hunting in the woods behind Charlie's house when I hear a branch crack behind me. I drop the rabbit I had been feeding on and turn around slowly. I can smell wolf, but I don't want to give anything away. Jacob is standing behind me.
"What do you want wolf." I growl, leaving my fangs out and very visible.
"I want you to leave bloodsucker." He says, hands not leaving his pockets. "The rest of you have and we were here first."
I feel a snarl building in the back of my throat. "My brother just died and you're trying to kick us out? Alice hasn't even said a word since the accident!"
He looks slightly taken aback but doesn't take it back. "We're giving you a week. If you're not gone by then I can't protect you anymore."
