I drive the boys out to see the ruins of Carlisle's house. I doubt they'll find much in the ashes but they said it might help and I'm not about to tell them no. I wait in the car as they pick though what's left of Jesper's room. I can't imagine them going in there is safe and as a police officer I should be the one to stop them but I don't.

I look up from the cross word I'd been working on when they get back into the car. "Find anything?" I ask.

"Yes actually." Says Sam as he climbed into the truck.

My head snaps up and i lock my gaze onto his in the rearview mirror. "Tell me everything." I demand, twisting around in my seat to look them both in the face.

Dean sighs and pulls a barley recognizable iron key from his pocket. "This was in Jasper's room. It locked the gate of our old hose, the one that burned down when our mother died. Obviously, you didn't have it. He left it. Time to click our heals three times because we're headed to Kansas."

I nod and start the car. "Carlisle and I can be ready to leave in two hours." I say as I pull out of the Cullen's driveway.

"Whoa whoa whoa." Says Sam, "You're not coming with us. This is extraordinarily dangerous."

I glare in mirror. "I'm coming. And where I go, Carlisle goes. It doesn't sound like you've had much luck on your own."

"Look- I get that you want to help but..." Starts Dean.

"It's not just that I want to help. I can help." I interrupt. "I've killed close to ten vampires in the past three months. I don't know about you boys but that seems like a pretty big number to me."

"And yet you live with one." I hear Dean mutter to himself but I ignore him.

"I know that this demon is a bigger threat and bigger enemy than a couple vampires but if you let me help I will. And it can't hurt to have a vengeful vampire on your side."

Dean shakes his head. "You've never faced a demon before. We are talking demons from literal hell. This isn't something you mess around with for shits and giggles."

If looks could kill both of those boys would be very unalive. Unfortunately that's not how this works. "Shits and giggles? This this killed my boyfriend's son. And you mother. This is personal and I might be able to help and it seems to me you need all the help you can get."

We pull into my drive way but I don't turn the car off and I don't unlock the doors. The boys exchange a very loaded look and Sam finally shakes his head, hair falling into his eyes.

"Fine. You come with us to Kansas and if you're any help at all you finish the hunt with us. If you get in the way or hurt or anything goes wrong with your vamp friend you're gone. And this is the only hunt. We part ways after this. Got it?"

I nod. "When do we leave?"

"As soon as you and vampy boy are ready." Dean grouches and he jumps out of the truck and stalks into the house.

Charlie and Carlisle take an hour forty-five to get ready. Once everything is in the impala we pull out and start the drive south. It's a 30 hour drive so I settle in. Dean has a classic rock station playing, and when Carry on my Wayward Son comes on I try to change the station. Dean slaps my hand away before I can even touch the knob.
