We spend the rest of the day in the library looking for anything that might help. There are mentions of a gun that can, with the right bullets, kill demons permanently. The problem is that we don't have that gun with us, and even if we did, there would be no generate that it would even work. The other problem is trying to find Sam at all. We know that he's not the only one, there are a number of people who went missing the same day he did, but no leads on any of them. They all disappeared into thin air and no one can find anything on any of them.

Dean in slumped over a book and even Carlisle is looking worse for wear when I finally stumble upon a mention of the demon we're looking for.

Azazel, The Yellow Eyed demon, will come to earth to find the body of Satan. He

will conduct tests to find the human whose body will play host to the devil.

I nudge Bobby and point at the paragraph. He skims, then grabs the book displacing pens that clatter to the ground and wake up Dean in the process. Dean jerks upright and blinks slowly, then zeros in on the book in Bobby's hand.

"You found something?" He asks, sitting up more fully.

I nod slowly. "Maybe."

I look at Bobby who's scribbling furiously on a note pad. He flips the page then looks back up at us. "We're going to South Dakota."

Sam

I lined the last window in the house with salt to keep demons out and looked out the milky glass as the light faded from the sky. The others were in the living room trying to get a fire started in the fireplace. There were five of us who had banded together. The others were out there somewhere. We'd tried to get more of them to join us, but they either didn't trust us enough or were now dead. A boy had tried to run into the woods last night and we'd heard his screams throughout the night. When we woke up he was strung up on the water tower. After that no one tried to leave.

"Sam! Do you hear that?" Lena asked me.

I didn't move from the window, but I coked my head and listened hard. I could faintly hear what she must be talking about. There were people shouting from down the street.

I turned from the window and run to the other room in a crouch. "Stop with the fire." I whisper. "We don't want to let them know where we are. It sounds like fighting, probably the demon starting the trial. We need to get out of sight of the windows."

Everyone looks utterly terrified except Jake, but they follow my example of the awkward squat run into the back room. We hole up in the bedroom because there is only one window that is easily avoided. I double check the windowsill has an unbroken line of salt. It's little protection, but also the best we can do for now. The house also had an iron poker that I made sure to grab before vacating the living room.

The others are all gripping their makeshift weapons tightly. I was able to cobble together a couple of knives and other sharp pointy things for them. Not for the first time I wish I had even just the basics. Or a gun. A gun would go a long way. I haven't seen a demon yet since getting here, but at night we can hear them swooshing past windows. The number in the area is terrifying. Dean and I struggle to take down just one in a host and there must be hundred without hosts here.

I hear a window break and see Alice flinch. Jake and I exchange a look. I know he's thinking the same thing. That was much closer than the fighting. Whatever is happening its getting closer and we're sitting ducks here. Lena is sitting in the fetal position next to me and I wrap and arm around her, trying to give as much comfort as I can. Not that I have much to give. This situation keeps getting worse and worse. Not only are we essentially unarmed, but there are people who can get through the salt lines getting closer.
