The book Bobby had been looking at briefly mentions that djinn might have the power to break deals with demons. No one's every lived long enough to test that theory, but if you can find a djinn it stands to reason on of your wishes could break the deal. "So now all we need to do is find ourselves a djinn!" Bobby all but crows at us. Carlisle and I exchange a look. Djinns are notoriously hard to find and if you can find one, they are not easy to tame. There are cases where the whole Genie in a bottle myth has been real but finding an enslaved djinn is like finding a needle in a haystack. I scratch my nose and look at Bobby. "How are you planning on finding a djinn Bobby?" His face falls and I feel bad, but it's a legitimate question. And a pretty big flaw in his plan. "I hadn't gotten that far yet." He says. "Bobby," Carlisle says, his voice laced with pity. "I would love to help you find a djinn that could legitimately be the answer to Dean's problem, but my children are missing, and I need to go find them. And I need to take Charlie with me." His grip on my hand tightens as he continues. "We will be on the lookout for any sign of djinn activity, but you have Sam and Dean to help you hunt and I only have Charlie." Bobby looks crest fallen but Carlisle's right. We need to go back to Forks and figure out what happened to Alice and Edward. After a few seconds he nods. "Yeah of course. You guys go. We'll figure it out without you." "I'm sorry Bobby." I say, trying to repair some of the damage. "But seriously let us know if you need us." He shakes his head. "It's fine. We'll catch up later. You should go to Forks."

Carlisle I feel bad about forcing Charlie to come with me to Forks, of course I do, but I don't think I can do this without him. Epically after last night and everything I told him. He's been my rock through huge transitions, and I don't think I'm going back to good news in Forks. It doesn't take long to pack everything into Charlie's truck. We're spending the rest of the day here helping Bobby get ready to go djinn hunting. Everyone's leaving in the morning, and it honestly feels like a new start. At least for me. I'm reading a book on the couch and Charlie is curled up next to me. He's so... Charlie. He took a shower this morning, but his hair has since descended into an unkempt mess. I don't know when the last time he cut it was but it's probably been too long because the longest strands are touching his eye lids. He has on jeans and a red flannel shirt. I don't know how he does this so often, but the buttons aren't aligned right so the top button isn't in the hole. I don't mind that much through because it causes the shirt to open more than it otherwise would giving me a glimpse of his chest. Have I mentioned how in love I am with this man? I could stare at him for hours. "You're staring." Charlie's voice snaps me out of the trance I'd been in. "I'm not." I say almost automatically. He slaps my thigh lightly with the book he'd been reading. "Are too. What wer you thinking about?" "How beautiful you are." I say, not wanting to lie. His cheeks go red almost immodesty. I won't lie, that's another reason I said it. I love when he gets flustered like that. He's adorable when the indignations starts to set in. "There's no way that's actually what you were thinking about." He says brown eyes flashing. I grab him and pull him closer. "Do you want me to lie and say I was thinking about how your shirt isn't buttoned right?" He looks down and self-consciously starts rebuttoning it. "Or about how your hair needs to be cut. But I am an honest vampire," I flash my fangs just a little. "And I don't like lies, and so I'll tell you that I was actually thinking about how hot those things are. I love how messy your hair is, and I especially love how when you miss a button that shirt shows off your chest." At this point Charlie looks like he can't decide if he wants to disappear into the couch cushions or jump my bones and I don't blame him. He's usually the one who has a way with words not me. "All that to say, you look incredibly hot and that's what I was thinking about." I finish. He barely gives me a moment to breath before his lips are on mine. The kiss is searing and intense, but I don't want it to end. I never want his kisses to end. Charlie finally breaks the kiss. "You can't just say things like that with no warning." I laugh and pull him onto my lap. "And why's that?" He only kisses me again, shifting so that he's straddling me on the couch. I laugh a little when I feel the harness pushing against my stomach. This is neither the time or the place, but it does put his comment into some context. "Charlie." I say, breaking the kiss and looking at him. His breathing is starting to get ragged, and his hands are buried in my hair. "What." He asks, voice breathy. "We definitely shouldn't' do this here." I say, pushing him off me a little. He slides all the way off, leaving my lap very cold, and holds out a hand to me. "Come on then, if this isn't the place lets go somewhere else." I grab his hand and let him pull me up off the couch. Yep, I am wholly and completely head over heals for this guy. I don't know what the next couple days will bring, but right now I don't care. Come what may I know he'll be with me and as long as he's there it'll all be fine.
