I rested my head on Chris's shoulder and gazed out the window. I saw people lying on the ground, dead. Any people walking had blood coming from their mouths dripping down to their chest. I closed my eyes, this cant be real. Its all just a nightmare. We just had to much to drink last night and its screwing with my mind. I'm going to wake up in bed, still held tightly in Chris's arms. I rubbed my eyes and still I saw the dead roaming the streets. Chris had his face buried in the palm of his hand. I knew he wanted to break down after his dad's death but every fiber in his body was telling him to stay strong. We left the city and no longer were any of the dead in sight, I guess its good that we live in the country. Never imagined it helping us in a situation like this. I could see our gate in the distance. There are only two houses near ours so I'm sure the chances of the virus already being out here are slim to none. At the corner of my eye I noticed two little spots on Bella, my little sisters, ankle. "What happened, Bella?" I asked while holding her foot in my hand. "Mittens bit me." Mom quickly stopped the car, "What?!" "Mom, relax. You don't know that the cat is carrying it. Its just a cat bite." Mom started driving again. "Honey, you let me know if you're not feeling well, okay?" "Yes, mommy" Dad got out and hurried to open the gate and shut it as we pulled in. He hopped back in and we went down the long driveway. We were finally home everything looked perfect compared to how it was in the city. I just hope it stays this way.
