Once Bitten

Part Twenty-Two

It took about an hour to get to the feed store. We got there and there was atleast fifteen walkers roaming around the place. He pulled up and we got out with our guns in hand and stood back-to-back as we shot the walkers in sight. We made our way to the front door and it was bolted shut. Riley pointed to a ladder on the side of the building leading up to an opening in the roof. "There should be a way to get in from up there, then you can just come unlock the doors for me. The keys for the feed room should be behind the desk." I walked over to the ladder and started to climb up it, once I got to the roof I slipped in thru the small window which brought me into a small bathroom on the second floor. I opened the door, walked out and stopped instantly. Inside was a lobby-like area and two men sleeping on couches with cowboy hats on there face wearing old looking t-shirts and torn up wrangler jeans, each with a gun beside them. I could hear shooting outside, Riley must be killing more walkers. The shots were faint from the inside of the building but would surely wake them up if he continued shooting. I slowly stepped backwards trying to be as silent as possible, I needed to get back out to Riley. Then I quickly went to spin around and ran right into man. "Where you going so fast?" I screamed and he grabbed onto me. "Mae?!" I could here Riley yelling from outside. The other men woke up and the one holding onto me grabbed my gun from my belt and threw it to the ground and it slid across the floor under a small table. "Riley!!" I screamed out. A man came up behind me putting a piece of rope in my mouth tying it behind my head I tried so hard to force my way out of their grip but I was helpless against them.
