He gave me some water and we sat there in silence. "So, what's your name?" He asked. "Mae." "I'm Riley." "Where are we?" "My house, its not much but it's safe." It was a single-wide trailer it was small and homie. "Where did you come from?" "My house out in the country, we can go there and pick up some things. Wait.. where's Buckie?" "Your horse? He's in the yard." "If we go back to my place we have another horse, Ace, we can bring him back here and you can have him." "Sure, when do you want to go?" "I just want to rest for a couple hours then I'll be ready." He got up "alright, I leave you be till you're ready I'll be in my room," he pointed towards it, "just walk in if you need anything." "Alright, thanks." He went in his room and I got comfortable on the foldout bed. I held the blanket close to me and closed my eyes. I couldn't sleep but I just needed time to relax. A little while later I got up and walked to his room, I turned the knob and walked in. He was laying there in his king sized bed sleeping wearing basketball shorts and no shirt I was kinda shocked but I shook my head and went to tap on his arm. It felt like a rock, pure muscle, there was no sign of fat anywhere on his body. He turned over and rubbed his eyes, "I'm ready to go." I whispered. "Alright, one sec." He got out of bed and stretched out his arms and yawned. He slipped on a t-shirt that was on top of his dresser and put on some sneakers. "Okay, lets go." We walked out the door and Buckie was grazing in the yard. I walked up and stroked his mane. Riley came up to me and smirked, "we can get there a little faster using my truck and you can get more of your things." Behind his house was a big Dodge ram truck. "Why do you keep it in the back?" "Thieves, there's lots of them." "There's other survivors?" "Yep, but most of them aren't good people like you and I though. Most of them are thieves, murderers, rapists, you name it. Not a lot of good people like you and I."
