His face came into the candle light and I saw him, a familiar face. I tried to scoot closer to the corner of the bed, "who are you?!" He smiled and placed his hand on my knee, "you can calm down, I'm only the person who just saved your life. Were you trying to get yourself killed out there?" I just looked down rubbing my fingers on the blanket. "I don't remember what happened." "I heard gunshots going off and screams, I came as fast as I could. I saw you on the ground there next to a horse then you just passed out. They almost got ya but I fought them off and brought you back here." With my head still down I looked at him, "thanks.. but you should've just left me there." He pushed my hair out of my face. "How could you say that?" I hugged my knees and rested my forehead on them. "..because I have nothing to lose." "The other day though? When I saw you on the roof, I saw you with a man." I started to cry and he sat beside me with his hand on my back. I looked back at him and buried my face into his chest, he just held his hand on the back of my head. He tried to comfort me, "it's going to be okay." The last time I heard that it was from Chris and look at everything that has happened since then. I pulled my face away from and wiped my eyes on my shirt. "I'm sorry." I said, feeling bad that I didn't even know him and have already cried on him. "Its okay. Better than holding it in." I wiped my eyes again, "he was my dad." He gave me a long hug. "I've lost love ones too. Its not easy, it never will be but nothing is ever worth taking your life over." I don't know him but I already feel so comfortable around him, maybe it was just because there was no one else.
