I ran to the bedroom and jumped on the bed flicking on that TV too, "Chris, look!" He rubbed his eyes and looked over. "What is it, babe?" I turned his head to the TV. The man on the television went on, "this virus is highly contagious. There is no known cure, scientists are working at this moment to come up with one. If you see someone showing all of these symptoms; high fever, foaming of the mouth, and seizures, we suggest that you secure them in a room or anywhere possible. -takes a deep breath- it is going to kill them.." I just put my hand over my mouth. "They will rise and they.. uh.. they are going to try to attack you." Chris rubbed his head, "Is this some sick joke? The man just said they're going to die and then now he's saying they're going to try to attack us? If someone dies they're dead.. there is no in between." The man on the TV's eyes started to water, "I know it may be a lot for everyone to take in but this is serious." He started to fidget with the gold ring on his left hand, then put his head down on the desk crying. The camera switched to another man, "Now look, to anyone who wants to live you're gonna have to keep yourself armed a simple pocket knife will work for people with no access to guns. It does not matter who you think they are.. that person died. The person rising is a monster who has no memories of you and the only thing they want is to kill you. Lock your doors and board your windows. Don't let anyone with an injury inside, chances are that they are infected. I'm not saying to start going homicidal, but I'm saying you need to do what you gotta do to survive." I ran out of the bedroom and Chris followed behind wondering what I was doing. I ran to the front door locking both locks and ran to the back door locking it too. I just collapsed on the tile floor, hugging my legs, hiding my face. Chris got on his knees in front of me and stroked my hair I just looked up at him with tear-filled eyes, "Chris, I'm scared." He wiped away my tears. "Mae, everything's going to be okay."
