We took turns shooting as we rode out to town. We saw the plaza in the distance and let the horses run full tilt. The parking lots were filled with walkers so we went behind Skip's Grocery Store and broke open the back doors. The horses just barely fit through the door but we got them inside. We took opposite sides of the store searching through what remained. My backpack was stuffed and I ran into dad as he finished filling his bag. "Ready to go?" We stepped outside, "I have another idea." We tied the horses in a gated area and left the backpacks hanging from their saddles and grabbing the rifles. We climbed up the ladder leading to the roof of Skip's. We got to the top and went to the edge of the building. Dad put his hand on my shoulder, "go ahead, get some real practice." He layed down with his hands under his head and I saw him smile he just lie there enjoying the sun, something we don't get much of since were surrounded by woods at home. I looked back to the crowd of walkers in the parking lot aand started to shoot. I knew I didn't have enough to kill them all but it was nice to actually have real practice instead of shooting a paper target on a bale of hay. I aimed at one walker, kept my sight on him as I steadied my aim. As soon as I was going to pull the trigger I saw blood fly from the front of his head and he fell to the ground. I took my eye off of the scope, someone else is alive out here. I looked back through the scope and searched around for the shooter. I heard another shot go off and looked towards where it came from. Then I saw a man standing there looking straight at me through the scope on his gun. He was very muscular wearing a tight grey shirt and torn up jeans. His skin was tanned and his hair dark brown, down to his chin. He moved the gun from his face, smirked in my direction as he turned away I could see a katana hanging from his back. Then he disappeared. He had to be the most handsome man I've ever seen, but what was he doing out here alone and who was he?
