Jay walked back through the doors with a smile on her face. They had finally told each other.
"It's about time they did too." Charles's voice sounded beside her. Jay almost jumped then turned adding,
"Obviously you don't have positive feelings about this?"
"More positive than Logan." Charles looked a bit worried and continued, "he really did care about Crystal."
"I know." Jay said. "I don't know what he's gonna do now."
"Neither do I." Charles replied, walking to the hall.
"About yourself or Logan?" Jay called after him.
He turned and as he walked backwards he said,
"Both."
It was at that moment that a loud clap of what they thought was thunder sounded, and Jay and Charles hurried out to the front steps of the building. The two froze and looked confused as they regarded the gold and white clad figure standing in the midst of a circular pattern on the ground. Footsteps sounded behind them and they heard Logan say,
"What the hell was that?!"
He came to a stop right before running into Jay and the Professor.
"Um." Jay said out loud.
"Who are you?" Logan asked.
The figure turned to reveal a slender young woman of around twenty, her deep brown curls reaching down below her shoulders. Her copper golden eyes scanned them and she said,
"I am Sigyn, of Asgard."
Jay blinked while Charles raised his eyebrow and Logan stepped forward.
"What are you doing here?" Logan asked.
"I am here to find my nieces." she smiled as she looked at Jay, "You are one of them."
"What?" Jay replied.
"Guys, what's going on?" Crys could be heard as she shoved through the line of people. On seeing Sigyn, Crys cocked her head and opened her mouth to speak. However, as she took in a breath, Sigyn cut in,
"My second niece."
"Whoa whoa whoa." Crys said, " Back up some and begin at the part where you say your name and where you're from."
"As I told your comrades here," Sigyn began in a dignified tone, "I am Sigyn, of Asgard. Widow of Loki."
"Loki?" Steve said. "You were his wife?"
"Yes, I was. And my sister was the Asgardian maid who married the one you call Angel. I am here to see his two daughters."
"Stop!" Jay put up her hand, "Error!"
"What error have I made Bluejay?" Sigyn asked, confused.
"Crys and I are cousins, not sisters." Jay laughed, "I don't have any siblings."
"I'm deeply sorry, but, it is you who is wrong." the Asgardian said, "I was present at both of your births."
Crys looked up at Jay and the two shared a confused glance.
"Your parents must have separated the two of you very early on due to Crow and Dove. I am sure it was to keep you both safe." Sigyn ended, her soft features looking a bit lined with confusion before adding,
"You two are siblings, there is nothing surprising about it."
"Well you'll find that there is," Jay began, "you know, being that we've spent out entire lives under the belief that we were only cousins."
"She's telling the truth." Bucky suddenly appeared beside the group and they all looked at him. "You two are sisters."
"How would you--"Jay began.
"Because I know." Bucky cut her off. he then looked at Sigyn and continued in a softer tone, "She's telling the truth."
"Thank you." Sigyn replied with a bow.
Bucky nodded his head and Jay let out a sigh of frustration as Crystal asked,
"Would you like to come in?"
"I would indeed." she answered, "There is much we must discuss."
They all then filed into the main drawing room, Sigyn following in silence. Logan seemed positively stars truck about her whereas Jay was a little uneasy. Whatever Sigyn had to say, it wasn't going to be good.
Jay had loitered behind a bit when she felt a nudge on her arm. She looked up wearily to see Bucky beside her, wearing the usual leather jacket and deep green shirt. His chin was cleanly shaven and his hair was pulled back and put into as much of a ponytail as it could without too many strands of hair falling out over his cheekbones.
"Are you okay?" he asked.
"I don't know." she replied, "I guess I'm just a little frazzled."
"I would be too."
"I just--I don't know." Jay ended with another frustrated sigh.
She then felt Bucky grab her arm lightly and pull her to a halt as the others continued down the hall.
"Hey," he said, "everything's going to be okay."
Jay tried to force a smile at his kindness and he replied with a small grin. He hesitated, then leaned forward and for a split second, Jay froze. His lips planted a soft and prolonged kiss on her cheek, closer to her lips than normal and he pulled away enough to the point where she could feel his lips brush against her cheek.
"I promise." he said in a quite tone.
Jay shut her eyes as a shiver ran swiftly up her spine then to her head, producing a fuzzy feeling in her head as well as butterflies in her stomach. He pulled back and his bright blue eyes looked her over before he put out his arm with a grin saying,
"Shall we?"
