Chapter 27

"Well shit." Logan said as he came up behind them.
"The Professor was wrong." Steve said angrily.
"That he was, my good man." Crow cut in, "He is wrong about a great deal of things concerning us."
"Yeah,"Jay added, "he also failed to mention how much of b**ch you are."
"Well," Crow said with mock hurt, "someone needs to be put in her place."
Taking a fighting stance, Crow let go a wave of energy that threw them back, farther down the hall, while also tearing off the wallpaper and pictures from the walls. Logan jumped to his feet as Steve pulled Jay up and he said,
"Stupid move Jay."
Jay chuckled to herself as her swords began to materialize over her hands and Logan's claws came out.
"What?," Jay said, "We needed to distract her."
Crow cocked her head just before she was shoved forward and onto the ground by none other that Bucky.
"See?" Jay said.
Logan rolled his eyes as they all came around her. Bucky had a proper hold on her arms as he pinned her down.
"How do we get Crys back?" Steve asked.
"I don't know." Jay shrugged.
"That's because you can't." Crow added as she tugged from Bucky's grip.
"Wait." Steve said, "I remember the Professor talking about these personalities."
"Yeah? We all did." Logan said.
"Anyways," Steve shot Logan a glance then continued, "He said that these consciousnesses emerge with the push of a large emotional experience."
"Yeah, he said mine emerged because of anger." Jay said.
"Then what did Crys do? It can't be anger." Steve asked.
There was a pause in their conversation as they all thought and Crow just laughed.
"I'm afraid there's no answer to that." she said.
"Fear." Bucky said out loud.
Crow became tense and tugged hard.
"Guys, it's fear!" Bucky said again.
The next thing any of them new, was that they were all in the gym. Jay groaned with annoyance and stood. However, she had not even been standing a moment before Crys tackled her from the side, ramming her into a pillar.
"I don't like having to do this Dove." Crys said as she looked over Jay's stumbling figure. "oh wait." Crys continued, "Yes I do."
She laughed and Jay turned her eyes on her. Her hands balled into fists and she set her jaw angrily.
"That's it!" Jay shouted.
Her wings flourished in a magnificent wave of black and the second Crys saw them, her eyes widened.
"Welcome back Dove." Crow said.
"I couldn't just let you throw me around." Dove chuckled through Jay, " Plus Jay was pissed, so she couldn't exactly help my emerging."
"This is the first I've seen those black wings show themselves before me." Crow laughed and bowed, "Im honored."
"Yes," Dove said, "Now honor this!"
Dove launched herself forward at Crow and immediately seized her throat. Crow kicked her feet up and shoved Dove off of her.
Dove landed on her feet gracefully and her blades materialized over her hands and she swung at Crow who responded in kind with the one blade that had instantaneously materialized over her left hand.
The blades met in a crash of sparks and a strange ring emanated from their contact. Dove pulled back then swung to the side with both blades before dropping them down on her again. Crow couldn't keep up with the speed of her swords and as a result she now had a large slash across her chest. She screamed and let a wave of energy leave her, throwing Dove against the cement wall, making a crater in it.
"Crys!" Steve shouted.
Crow turned to the massive hole in the wall and took a step forward.
"Get back Soldier!" Dove shouted. "You cannot with this fight!"
Bucky stopped Steve from running forward as Charles appeared beside him and Logan.
"Do something!" Steve shouted to Charles.
"I'm trying." the professor replied, " Her mind is very strong."
Crow heard Dove stand and within a second of turning on her, she used her force field to hold Dove up on the wall.A strip of this force field formed around her throat and tightened.
"Jay !" Bucky shouted.
He ran forward but was stopped by Crow's force field. He slammed his metal fist on it, throwing him back off his feet. Fearfully he looked up at Dove to see the deep chocolate eyes back to their normal state and her black wings turn grey.
"Crys!" Jay choked, "Crystal please!"
"Cryst is not available." Crow laughed.
Suddenly Crow twitched and turned her head down with a moan of pain. Charles grinned and said,
"All of the telepaths in the school are trying to penetrate her mind. Including Jay."
Bucky looked back at Charles then at Jay who was now frantically struggling to breath..
"Professor!" Bucky shouted.
"Almost!" Charles replied, shutting his eyes in pain, "We need another person!"
"There's no one else left!" Bucky said.
"Crys!" Steve shouted.
Suddenly Crys screamed and Jay dropped to the floor. Bucky ran forward and Charles stumbled to the side, Logan stopping his fall.
Steve came near Crystal as she groaned in pain on the floor.
"Who helped?" Steve asked as he stepped forward again.
"Crys did," Charles said.
Jay held tightly to Bucky as he lifted her up and she said with a cough,
"Crys is a more powerful telepath than Charles." she looked at the worn professor and said, " Not even she knows that, or Crow."
