Jay walked around the maze of hedges, listening to the wind blow. She wore a pair of jeans and boots with a camo, v neck t-shirt. Her hair was up in a messy bun and the only thing she was proud of about her appearance was her makeup. She had actually applied it properly and it made her look very good. However, Bucky wasn't even at the school that day, so it didn't matter to her.

"Jay!" She heard Logan call.

She turned around to see the scruffy and attractive Logan making his way to her on the gravel path. The sky had dark clouds filling it and the wind seemed to pick up a little.

"What's wrong?" Jay asked.

"Steve needs you now." He panted.

"Why? Is everything alright?" Jay asked, now very bothered.

The two were hurrying to the balcony stairs and Logan replied,

"I don't know. Its urgent tho."

Logan hurried ahead of her to the dining room and she raised her eyebrow.
What on earth could he need me for?

Her thoughts ended there as she pushed open the door and stepped into the dark dining room.

Jay paused, feeling for the switch.

"What the f----"

She was cut off by the lights turning on and a massive group of people screaming "SURPRISE!!"

"HOLY---!!" Jay jumped and turned in a full 360 .

"What in the name of George Washington are you all doing?!" She shouted.

"Jay," Crys appeared beside her and handed her a Mikes saying , "it's your birthday."

"Oh!" Jay said.

She had completely forgotten that it was her birthday and she felt kind of foolish for that.

"Well, thank you." She shouted popping open her Mikes.

She made her way to the main table and seated herself . She honestly did not remember that it was her birthday, but she just shrugged and drank. Soon enough, Crys and Steve took the two seats to her right and Johnny and Logan the seats to her left. The party consisted of friends, family, a barbeque and bear, and not to mention, music. The party took place on the large patio, just outside the kitchen door.

Jay was having fun, but not as much as she would've if Bucky was there. She had gone outside to play a few games of volleyball and found that Steve was a pretty scary opponent. However, Crys was flexible enough and quick enough to deflect most of his million mile and hour spikes.

She ran to the garden table and took a few sips of her now tenth Mike's .

"Hey Jay!" Crys called as she ran up to her.

"Yeah?"

"I was told to tell you that you have a package waiting for you in your room." Crys said breathlessly.

"Oh, ok." Jay smiled.

Crys gave her a bear hug and said,

"Happy birthday ."

"Thanks." Jay replied before moving out of the crowded party and into the hall. Once she was a few feet from the door, she could hear the music muffled and the laughter drowned out by said music. She sighed and thrust her hands in her pockets . She was a bit disappointed that Bucky didn't show. In fact, she didn't even know where he was. He missed their good morning routine and that was what really threw her off that whole day.
