The tremor from the explosion was what woke her. She was knocked out by the fallen beam which was currently being thrown by her against the scorched wall. She groaned as her chocolate eyes opened and blinked away the dust. Her caramel brown hair was dirtied with crusted blood and dirt and her head throbbed.

Slowly she tried to make her aching muscles lift her body from the ground, but it failed. They trembled violently as she strained to sit up at least, but when she made it up, a sharp and jagged pain shot into her leg. She swallowed her scream, and sweat began to form as she struggled to stand.

Her leg was broken by the fall from the roof to the basement and the ceiling above her no longer existed. It was now a massive hole, the beams falling into place as an almost cone shape around the small crater her force field created when she fell.

She knew, that as a mutant and alien hybrid, she could have certain abilities, but she did not have immortality. Her Mother, Aarella, was from Asgard and came down to earth with Thor after the invasion of the Dark Elves and the fall of S.H.I.E.L.D. She remained on earth after Thor returned to Asgard and she married a man named Angel. He was a mutant.

He bore the strong and large wings of an "Angel", as his father used to say, thus his name came about. He was unable to hide his mutation even though he wanted to, something which his child, Bluejay Sadie Worthington, could.

Jay, as she went by, was able to have her wings retract at will, into her skin, disintegrating into two large, tribal style, wing tattoos. They reached from each shoulder-blade to the middle of each calf. Needless to say she didn't wear swimsuits very often. The odd thing about these tattoos was that they, as well as her wings, were white. They were white when she was calm, collected or knew exactly what she was doing with no guilt. However, they changed color with her moods, and everyone who had known her before they were killed, knew that when they were black, she was dangerous and you should not be near her.

Her wings, which were now unfurled, were fading to a speckled white-brown. She wasn't exactly calm, and she was also hurt.

She took in a deep breath as she readied herself and with one swift movement, her wings drooped down then shot her body upward. The moment she was in the air, she dropped, but caught herself. Her muscles were still sore from the skirmish the day before.

She looked down at the half burned down building and the massive hole her body had made when she was launched through it. She looked over her jeans and dirtied, bloody tank-top. Her arms would have been chilly in the early morning air, but a leather jacket was covering them.

She stared up at the clear sky as the warm light of dawn peered over the mountains and onto the city. Fear gripped her as she glided down to the shore. Mutants were after her and they weren't being kind in trying to get to her either.

Jay woke up to a large banging noise and sat up shaking her head of caramel brown hair. She knew that over the past few days she had to be extra vigilant of what was going on around her. She was currently sleeping in a small hotel room, at the corner of the street next to the park. She liked it there, not only because it was small and quiet, but because she could hear the children's laughter and people having and enjoying a good day at the park. That was definitely something that she had never had. She slowly shuffled her feet to the door and opened it quietly. She took turns looking up and down the hall to find nothing of any suspicion. Very cautiously she closed the door and shrugged her shoulders.

She yawned and made her way to the chair next to her kitchen table where she sat for a while, staring blankly at a wall. She wished deep down that she had known her parents better, that she had been able to go to the park and have fun and enjoy life with other children, but that was something that she would never have. Something she wished for but something she would most definitely never have. She believed this in her heart of hearts nothing would have changed her from that belief.
